- This red-hot singing and dancing sensation is 18 years old. Born and raised in Charlotte NC, Cene has been on her grind since she was 12. Born completely deaf in one ear, Cene still went on to teach herself to play piano, sing and dance. That illustrates the unwavering determination of this young starlet. By the time she was 14 she was performing in local talent shows and opening up for Multi-Platinum artists. Now its time for Cene to shine with her smash hit single "My Bumper". She is currently in the studio finishing her debut album titled "Ya Girl". She also spends a lot of her spare time working on her foundation for the hearing impaired through The "Make A Way" Foundation. She is the future, so get ready for Ya Girl!!!

February 19, 2008 -- Each February, as we celebrate African American History Month, we recognize the achievements of black Americans in the arenas of politics, civil rights, sports, arts and entertainment, and education. Rarely, however, is there a focus on our long and great legacy as entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Unfortunately, this often leaves us with the false impression that African Americans have no legacy of success in business; that black business achievement began with John H. Johnson (or worse, Magic Johnson, Russell Simmons, and Sean "Diddy" Combs). Of course, long time readers and subscribers of BLACK ENTERPRISE know different—for us, every month, every issue, is Black History Month. We know that our legacy as black entrepreneurs can be traced back to colonial America.
