- Sinn Féin is the fastest-growing political party in Ireland.
It is a republican and labour party, taking its inspiration from the politics of Wolfe Tone, James Connolly and the 1916 Easter Rising.
Sinn Féin, the only all-Ireland party, is committed to achieving a 32-County democratic socialist republic and the end of British rule in Ireland.
Sinn Féin is nationalist and internationalist. It is anti-imperialist, anti-fascist and anti-racist.
Sinn Féin, a fresh alternative to the stale politics, corruption and mismanagement of the Establishment parties, is committed to achieving real change in Irish society. Sinn Féin is working to bring about an end to the sectarian Six-County state.
The Drumm/Doherty Cumann in Clondalkin Dublin 22 are involved in a wide varying range of activities not just in relation to the national struggle but also to improve and work with the local community to make Clondalkin a better place to live for all

People with mental illness being let down by Government – Clondalkin Sinn Féin
Clondalkin Sinn Féin activist and youth representative Lar Bates has said that exactly two years on from the publication of the State's mental health policy A Vision for Change far too little has been achieved by the Government which still allows mental health to remain "the most neglected sector of our health services". He slammed the HSE asset-stripping of buildings and lands of former psychiatric institutions as revealed in today's report from the Irish Psychiatric Association.
"Two years ago today A Vision for Change was published and it promised a new beginning in mental health. Progress since then has been far too slow and the reality is that people with mental illness are still being badly let down by Government. Mental health remains the most neglected sector of our health services.
"It is a scandal that Health Minister Harney and the HSE have failed to produce and to carry out an implementation plan for A Vision for Change. Essential improved services were promised but are not being provided and staff are not being appointed because of the HSE recruitment embargo, as highlighted by the Irish Mental Health Coalition. While additional funding for mental health was allocated in 2006 and 2007 there was no additional money in 2008. This is doubly damaging as it was revealed that nearly half of the €50 million allocated in 2006 and 2007 to implement A Vision for Change was spent in other areas.
"The unacceptable attitude to mental health that still pervades Government thinking is typified by their insistence on co-locating the new Central Mental Hospital with the proposed prison at Thornton Hall. This is against all advice from people working in the sector and flies in the face of any rights-based approach to people with mental illness.
"The Irish Psychiatric Association is to be commended for highlighting the asset-stripping by the HSE in selling off lands and buildings formerly in use for psychiatric institutions and in failing to plough this funding directly back into improved services for people with mental illness. This is a huge scandal in itself and it is especially damning that the site of a proposed psychiatric unit at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin is now to be allocated to one of Minister Harney's precious private for-profit 'co-located' hospitals.
"Despite all their fine words this Government is failing to deliver for people with mental illness. We in Clondalkin Sinn Féin will continue to put pressure on Mary Harney until A Vision for Change is fully implemented0 comentarios 662 días

Máire Drumm
Máire Drumm (22 November 1919-28 October 1976) was the vice president of Sinn Féin and a commander in Cumann na mBan. She was killed by loyalists while recovering in Belfast's Mater Hospital.
Born in Newry, County Down to a staunchly republican family. Drumm's mother had been active in the War of Independence and the Civil War. Drumm grew up in the village of Killean, County Armagh, she enjoyed playing camogie (the female form of hurling). She was active in the republican movement after meeting her husband, a republican prisoner and becoming involved in the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s and she worked vehemently on efforts to re-house the thousands of nationalists forced from the homes by unionist intimidation. Her family were continuously harassed by British soldiers, as well as loyalist paramilitaries. [citation needed]
She was jailed twice for 'seditious speeches'. After she was released from Armagh prison, raids on her house by the security forces escalated and she and her family were under constant threat of death. [citation needed] Finally the constant strain took its toll, her health began to fail and she was admitted to the Mater Hospital, Belfast.
On October 28th 1976, Maíre Drumm was murdered by Loyalists, as she lay on her hospital bed.

VOL. MARTIN DOHERTY
VOL. MARTIN DOHERTY
The Clondalkin Sinn Féin Cumann proudly perpetuates the memory of I.R.A. Volunteer Martin Doherty from Dublin in it’s name. He was killed in May 1994 by a Loyalist Death Squad at the Widow Scallon’s Bar in his native city, while on door duty at a Republican function in the building. The Loyalists brought with them a bomb, intending to leave it inside the building unaware to the 300+ people upstairs attending the function, and then detonating it later. This would have caused massive carnage and casualties. However, Martin Doherty confronted the death squad, and in a scuffle with them, he was shot and died at the scene. His brave actions saved the lives of hundreds of people, but he died himself, like so many others throughout Irish history.0 comentarios 763 días

Campaign To Stop Anti-Socialbehaviourihace 55 semanasChildren do not come into the world with an inherent dislike or hatred for other people. They are moulded by their parent or parents, who for their part may have experienced in the past or are currently experiencing, social problems brought about by unemployment, marital difficulties, education or just sheer frustration at others around them enjoying life to its full. Antisocial behaviour is not just confined to local authority areas, (although people in residential estates like to think so) it can be visibly seen throughout many areas and the various social classes, take Saint Johns Park West for instance.People (adults) who promote or encourage antisocial behaviour live a life of denial. They see everybody else as being the problem and hide their resentment for others by joining or participating in community or other social activities they hope will disguise their real motives for their participation.
Antisocial behaviour has many faces
