OYMT 2008 Reviews
An excellent performance despite lacking the sophisticated props of a west end production, the voices of Jean Valjean, Fantine, Éponine and Javert do not disappoint. Although it was the first night and there were one or two wrinkles it was enjoyable. The performance is slightly let down by the sound system and direction - it would be better if Javert sang to the audience and not the stars on the back drop. Thénardier and Madame Thénardier could do with more precision in their acting.
But when the cast 'get it right'... boy do they get it right!
The Queen's Theatre London should take note: 'there are young lions in the house' and they roar beautifully.

OYMT 2008 Reviews
Opening nights are always a bit dodgy as the cast are almost always unsure of props and set. That being said this was an amazingly enjoyable night out, the cast were all very talented and Javert and Fantine's solo's sent shivers down my spine. I felt compelled to revolt after "Red and Black" and "Do you hear the People sing", and was very moved after "A Little Fall of Rain".
It did, however, seem to me that the stage crew aren't yet at the standard that you would expect in a performance of Les Miserables, the removal of the barricade was too noisy and detracted from the feel of the night. But all in all the cast and production team should be very proud of themselves, for putting on such a good production with such a young and raw cast.

ELANA'S HOUSE RULES! yay
Agreed with Adam. Les Mis was defenitely amazing and one of the best shows I can be proud to say I have done, well done to everyone and I loved every second of it. But people need to stop slagging off Mikado, I say this not just cos I was in it, but because just as much hard work went into it and was a great show - at the end of the day, les mis is just better writing. But also agreeing with gemma, it's good that every year we seem to push towards doing better then the previous year which is great. Well done all, cya next year. x
i juist want to say i LOVE YOU ALL! LOVED THE SHOW! OBVIOUSLY! omg saaaaad! i wanna see you all again!! muchos love baby! oh n L.O.L at the pic of me n charlie!! xxxxx
A massive well done to everybody involved, you all did such an amazing job. I've seen a few OYMT shows and enough 'amateur' (yuck- that word makes me sick!) theatre to shake a stick at and this is by far the best I've seen. Hot Mikado last year was good, Baker was pure comedy, but the idea of these things is to reach a new level each year. You all definitely did that! I can't wait to see next year's show now! Big love to all my sexy bitches xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxx
yo guys, my bebo flashbox is a really bad quality video of the 24601 bit with ben and kurt from the les mis prologue. its from our first rehearsal in the theatre. just thought id mention it. dont know who made this site and who runs it, but...if you want it... lol x
