Volunteers & Staff
Camglen Radio is mainly volunteer run, from the changing of light bulbs, making tea, to the behind the scenes technical co-ordination of Jingle Writing, Transmission, Sound Engineering, Presentation & always make our guests feel at home.
We have approximatly 60 volunteers and counting, who all give up their precious time to help play their part in working together, to ensure that when we are on or off air, the station is running smoothly.
Camglen has one paid member of staff, the station co-ordinator (Tam Curry), whom, with support of the volunteers, keeps Camglen Radio on its feet, behind the scenes, working hard to ensure that training is provided for all volunteers, as well as ensuring we have a future at Camglen Radio.
We also have a strong commitee of ten members, who work hard looking for opportunities to expand the opportunity of the station and have its best interests at heart.

Camglen Radios Aim
We aim to provide a wide varied of opportunities, from the fantasic experience of volunteering and gaining new skills, to giving the local community a voice to express their views, and share what is going on in the local area, in a bid to encourage warmth and welcoming in the community, and give people a platform, that would be beneficial for all in our community.
Training
Camglen Radio as aforementioned offers a wide range of opportunities in the radio field to all volunteers, but it wouldnt be fair not to give our local schools a mention, as for our upcoming broadcast in June, we are currently training up youngsters from the 21 schools we have in the area.
With the help of two devoted volunteers, by the names of Ian Goldie & Gail Anderson, we are currently training ten children from each of the twenty one schools in scriptwriting, Jingle writing/Audio Editing and using our broadcasting system efficiently to be able to have their own shows during the June broadcast. This not only teaches them about radio, but also builds confidence, teaches them various skills such as team work, communication skills and lots more. One school has reported that one of their pupils who was extremely shy, has found much more confidence, and aided them to become more engaged in schools activities. Positive all the way.
CHI
The Cambuslang and Rutherglen Community Health Initiative is the managing umbrella organisation, who help us find finance opportunities to keep Camglen Radio on air, as well as many of the local organisations who want us to succeed in our quest.
As well as Tam Curry, who is the station co-ordinator, the CHI also provide us with a volunteer co-ordinator, by the name of Caroline Graham, who works with various volunteers, in Camglen Radio, and also many of the other volunteers, who are involved with the CHI's activities. Esther Higgins, who also works for the CHI, uses her marketing skills to further the development of the stations volunteers to help them gain skills and knowledge, and take the station to the next level.
Broadcasts
Five broadcasts gone and we are now moving onto our fifth 28 day broadcast in June...
Camglen Radio grows from strength to strength, with our next broadcast from 17th November To 14th December 2009
