Me, Myself, and I
Welcome to The Roleplaying Group, currently hosted by: www.madam-bellatrix.bebo.com

This page attempts to help new roleplayers gain advice and tips from those with more experience. Feel free to read through the blog, ask questions, take the polls and leave comments. However, unless you have another roleplaying group that you wish to share, please DO NOT advertise.

I will ask you not to use text language, as it annoys the majority of roleplayers and can be very hard to read.

I Know This Is A Very Weird Entry But..

Don't You Agree Roleplay Is More Than About Mail Or Msn Sex..If You Agree With This Say So Now.
    Write About It Here..

I Feel Sometimes People Only Expect When Your Out With Them, Mail Sex..Which Isn't What Rping Is About.

  • NEW RANT, OOC

    - Perfect characters
    - Immortal characters who just "are" immortal with no reason
    - People who try to tell you how to roleplay your character
    - OCs that start calling you "mother" without asking if they can be one of your children

    EDIT:
I have a new pet hate.

    **VOLDEMORT'S CHILDREN**

WHY, in the name of all that is evil and wrong would Voldemort, THE Lord Voldemort, the most evil wizard of the time have brats?! "He can't love," you say, "but he might be able to feel lust! Therefore, lust = sex with sexy witches = astonishingly talented kids! Wow, I found a loophole! Suck on that!"

    NO.

And I'll tell you why the very loud answer is NO.

This is so improbable it's painful. Voldemort has a splintered soul. He is, for want of a better word, "deformed". He isn't human. One of the most basic human emotions is, guess what, lust. He's beyond lust. He's beyond most emotion. He's more savage than a human, but he's more refined. He doesn't give into carnal urges because he doesn't experience them.

Now, for a minute, let us be hypothetical. All right, so sixteen years ago Voldemort made some unsuspecting young witch pregnant. Fast forward sixteen years and young Star Twinkle Mary Sue Riddle-Potter comes to find Daddy.

She gets Avada Kedavra'd in character, and told where the hell to go out of character.

    Why?

Because if dear old Daddy Voldemort DID have children, he wouldn't love them anyway! He wouldn't accept them! The man was orphaned and mistreated, and you expect him to accept a teenage whore as his daughter? Sweet Merlin. Seriously.

If I was RPing a Voldemort on here, my blood pressure would be in a critical state.

    End of rant.

    For now.

  • Photoshop Tutorial #1 - Changing Eye Or Hair Colour in Photoshop

    Bellatrix Lestrange by Bellatrix Lestrange
To use this tutorial to edit your pictures, you must have:

    a) Photoshop - any version should do, but I use CS2;
    b) A basic knowledge of the tools in Photoshop - where the Paint and Fill Bucket options are, etc.

Follow these instructions to change the colour of eyes and hair in your pictures. If this seems a little confusing at first, keep following the instructions; if you get stuck, shout and I'll rescue you. This will soon come as second nature to you, and you'll be away!

    INSTRUCTIONS
    1. Open Photoshop

    2. Open the picture you would like to edit

    3. Click the Paintbrush option

    4. Press Q on the keyboard. This enters QuickMask mode

    5. Carefully paint over the area you wish to change the colour of - the hair, for example. You will notice it colours in red. The neater you can do this, the better the effect. Zoom in and out by pressing Ctrl and the + or - keys to get a closer look and to do eyes easier

    6. Press Q to exit QuickMask. Dotted lines will appear over your picture

    7. Go to Select > Inverse

    8. Go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Colour

    9. From the drop down box called Mode, select Soft Light. Click OK

    10. Use the colour picker that appears to achieve the colour you would like. Click OK when you're done

    11. Save it as a JPEG or GIF

    12. Tidy the edges. I use the Smudge tool and Burn tool to round them off and blend them in

This method can also be used for colouring clothes and larger areas - for example, if you wish to make your background all one colour.

If you wish, you can leave a comment as to whether you found this helpful - or offer tips for improvement!
