- Chemistry student at Heriot-Watt university who has finally caved to the Bebo-Machine and become a social-networker (or something.) I am clearly a geek and am in possession of a hat that confirms this. I like to write fiction in my spare time and have a taste in music that can only be described as suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder. Bluegrass deathmetal indie ironic post-modern rock (say it fast), all of the above are playing in my head. I game to a degree that is less than healthy, but there are worse cases than me. My knowledge of current events rarely streches to beyond the date and day of the week.

Oh it's a blog function. How useless. I am tired, confused, my BAC is dangerously low and I'm only 5000 words into my novel. I'm dangerously close to making bedtime around 9pm. If this is what it feels like to be 30 I may have to invoke Peter Pan-like magic in order to avoid this.

Being cursed with an inability to relax and fall asleep I've instead taken to fixing up the little laptop that could. Apparently the spec is slightly higher than I remembered - 700MHz PIII Coppermine, 256MB RAM. Not bad for such a tiny machine.
As I write I'm in the process of updating a whole load of packages on the system but you're up to full Hardy Heron now and I've even managed to unfuck Gnome so there's menus and everything. Posh, I know.
I must say though, I'd forgotten how sharp this screen is. Looks gorgeous to my sleep-deprived eyes. -
