- This is a fan club/appreciation group of both the novel and movie adaptation of the same name, Atonement.
Atonement is the story of 2 lovers, Cecilia Tallis and Robbie Turner, who are separated after Cecilia's younger sister, Briony, falsely accuses Robbie of a crime he did not commit.
Robbie is sent to war in Dunkirk, while Cecelia waits in London for him. Meanwhile Briony is in London, training to be a nurse.
Briony has since realised her mistake, and regrets what she did.
But is Briony able to atone?

ATONEMENT WINS BIG; ARTICLE
Yesterday Atonement took home the big $$$ as it won the Golden Globe for BEST MOTION PICTURE - DRAMA.
Congrats!
However Keira, James, Joe and Saoirse missed out on their Globes, but it was not all bad news as Dario Marienelli took home the Globe for Best Soundtrack! =]
This morning when I was doing my daily rounds on the internet, I came across this nice article about James and Keira from W Magazine.

Success for Atonement at the Golden Globes Nominations.
The Golden Globes nominations were announced and we are pleased to say that Atonement leads the nomination count with a total of 7 nods! =D
This is puts 'Atonement' into some serious Oscar contention with the awards season just around the corner! Hopefully these Golden Globes will give us an indication of just how well the movie will do at the Academy Awards.
The list of nominations are:
Best Motion Picture - Drama for Atonement
Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for Keira Knightley
Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama for James McAvoy
Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for Saoirse Ronan
Best Director - Motion Picture for Joe Wright
Best Screenplay - Motion Picture for Christopher Hampton
Best Original Score - Motion Picture for Dario Marianelli
The Golden Globes Ceremony will take place on January the 13th.

Is Biony's atonement enough?

I was recently required to do a seminar at school for an English assessment about a book, and naturally, I chose Atonement.3 respuestas 65 semanas
While writing my seminar, a number of things popped up but one of them was the issue of whether or not Briony's final atonement at the end was sufficient to heal the scars.
Many people think Briony realises that she can never undo what's been done and I do too.
But I'm curious as to see what you think! =]
