did you know?
-It predicts that by 2016 shoppers could be scanned as they enter stores, schools could bring in cards allowing parents to monitor what their children eat, and jobs may be refused to applicants who are seen as a health risk.
-There are up to 4.2m CCTV cameras in Britain - about one for every 14 people.
-Monitoring of work rates, travel and telecommunications is also rising.
-HOW WE CAN BE WATCHED
4.2m CCTV cameras
300 CCTV appearances a day
Reg plate recognition cameras
Shop RFID tags
Mobile phone triangulation
Store loyalty cards
Credit card transactions
London Oyster cards
Satellites
Electoral roll
NHS patient records
Personal video recorders
Phone-tapping
Hidden cameras/bugs
Worker call monitoring
Worker clocking-in
Mobile phone cameras
Internet cookies
Keystroke programmes
-No-one outside the military and intelligence community really has any idea of the level of monitoring from the skies.
But the popularity of Google Earth must lead users to guess that the military probably have their hands on something a whole lot better.
-Personal video recorders such as the TiVo or Skyplus offer a unique type of surveillance - they watch what you want to watch. The machines monitor your viewing habits and second-guess what you might want to record.
-One of the most subtle forms of surveillance is the use of HTTP cookies - small packets of data that are used to communicate between websites and your computer. They are used to set your preferences when you visit a website for a second time and for a host of other reasons.
You can switch your cookies off but then there's a host of websites that you will be unable to use properly. Want to shop online? Well then you might just have to accept being watched.

ID cards do you believe in it?
Enabling legislation for the British national identity card was passed under the Identity Cards Act 2006 [3]. The multi-billion pound scheme [4] has yet to enter procurement. The cards will have a lesser role than the database they are linked to, which is known as the National Identity Register (NIR). The Act specifies fifty categories of information that the NIR can hold on each citizen [5], including up to 10 fingerprints, digitised facial scan and iris scan, current and past UK and overseas places of residence of all residents of the UK throughout their lives and indices to other Government databases - which would allow them to be connected. The legislation also says that any further information can be added. [6].
The legislation further says that those renewing or applying for passports must be entered on to the NIR. It is expected that this will happen soon after the UK Passport Service, which has now been renamed the Identity and Passport Service (IPS), start interviewing passport applicants to verify their identity. [7] Various degrees of concern about the scheme have been expressed by human rights lawyers, activists, security professionals and IT experts.

Freedom of speech what do you think?
Freedom of speech is the concept of being able to speak freely without censorship. It is often regarded as an integral concept in modern liberal democracies. The right to freedom of speech is guaranteed under international law through numerous human rights instruments, notably under Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, although implementation remains lacking in many countries. The synonymous term freedom of expression is sometimes preferred, since the right is not confined to verbal speech but is understood to protect any act of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used.
In practice, the right to freedom of speech is not absolute in any country, although the degree of freedom varies greatly. Industrialized countries also have varying approaches to balance freedom with order. For instance, the United States First Amendment theoretically grants absolute freedom, placing the burden upon the state to demonstrate when (if) a limitation of this freedom is necessary. In almost all liberal democracies, it is generally recognized that restrictions should be the exception and free expression the rule; nevertheless, compliance with this principle is often lacking.

Matt Smith105 weeks agoWell, who decides on what we should have to worry about? In Pakistan if you are an opponent of General Musharraf's Military Dictatorship and are captured on CCTV or by an eagle eyed Government employee taking a leading role in a Pro-Democracy demonstration you can be sure that you will be treated as a political prisoner, ultimately very harshly as a means of "Political Re-education and Re-Integration" in other words surrendering your beliefs under torture and brainwashing. The same in Burma with the Buddhist Monks being killed and imprisoned without trial and captured without a warrant issued for arrest which satisfies UN International Law requirements for the arrest of the "offendee", again an attack on Democracy.
Now you say, it isn't happening here or the US?
Well, it is, Muslims in the UK are subject to control orders often based on them being obscurely connected by blood to known terrorists. For the US, Guantanamo Bay is filled with untried detainees there indefinately.

I don't know if you watched the news but a while ago now there was a time when the gov. said they were going to take peoples DNA from birth if thats not against our human rights I don't know what is.
All the infomation on this page comes from fully accurate places like the BBC.
Please search in google Amnesty uk for more infomation on how to fight for jusice (peacfully). also search bbc DNA datebase News -
BatGirl106 weeks agoim not trying to be harsh, mabe i just dont understand. Although some stuff may be a OTT like the micro-chips, things like DNA and CCTV could actully save lives and help incriminate crimenals. many people are being let go after commiting crimes simply because the police dont have evidence. I think that collecting out DNA isnt a bad thing because really if i havent done anything wrong i have nothing to worry about.
