It's very early in the morning and this thought came into my mind.Yes, thats right. I HATE FUCKING POSERS. these evil manifestations on our earth are also called "Try-hards" - people who ungenuinely follow the crowd to not be ridiculed. I hate this environment, and can't wait till others grow up outta this stage.

The common types of posers:

ROCK MUSIC posers - those who claim to be hardcore but still like listening to emo bands and justin timberlake & hanson. haha.

GENERAL posers - Those that try to do gang signals in every pose they do in a photo. I mean, get a fucking life - what's wrong with smiles these days?

DRINKING posers - those that drink lolly water stuff and still spew their guts out over two drinks - to prove they're "Cool".

WIGGA/WIGGER posers - those white guys who unashameably dress up like hip-hop people, cos they think they can get chicks easier this way. Most of them can't walk the walk.

AGE posers - Those of both sexes but predominantly female specimens that try to dress/act a hell of alot older than they are.

Hey there all. I thought i may as well do something constructive with my time here and write a review for my favourite album at the moment, Era Vulgaris.

This is Josh Homme & Co's 5th album, and yes, they have headed in a new direction, and I think it is a fucking good one. After Lullabies to Paralyze, which was quite a dark, fairy-tale like record - Queens have headed back to their desert roots mixed in with psychedelia and funk. It has inklings of all previous albums, including Rated R, Songs For the Deaf, their Self-Titled album & Lullabies to Paralyze. It uses all these themes and fuses It together.

Iam now going to go through a song by song review:

1) Turning on the Screw : This song is a great opener for the album, really sets the mood. Opens with a loud harmony, then Joey Castillo's pounding drums make a steady, funky rhythm. A synth keyboard then comes in, which introduces J-Ho's swinging & grooving guitar riff. This track's vocals is very Beatlesque and harmonic - J-Ho's voice reminds me of the latter work John Lennon did in the beatles i.e Sgt Pepper. Lyrically, has a few good quips - " You can't lose it if you never had it" , " The Jury's in, verdict : RETARDED". Does a clever thing in middle of song where a riff comes in through both channels - would go nice on a surround sound setup. 8.5/10

2) Sick, Sick, Sick - The first single off the album, very catchy. Has a thundering riff - the lyrics are very catchy, will make a great sing-a-long. Julian Casablancas from The Strokes features on Synth Guitar and voice on here. Great stuff.

3) I'm Designer - One of my favourites off the album, All about how our generation seems to get sold out(ripped off) to "The Man". Has some great lyrics, "It's just like Diamonds...In Shit." and " I'm high class, I'm a whore....actually both. Basically I'm a pro". The riff is very funky. The chorus I reckon is very psychedelic. Awesome song. - 10/10

4) Into The Hollow - A song that could've been on Lullabies - has a bluesy riff in the verse, then turns very fairy-tale like into the chorus. J-Ho does some really nice "crooning here", really showing his great vocal abilities. I like the chord progression on this. Lyrics are kinda irrelevant on this kinda song. 9/10

5) Misfit Love - Takes quite a while to kick in - Starts with a loud synth noise, then Joey kicks in with a really funky & hard beat - J-Ho comes in and it sorta stays like this until 1min 20. J-Ho sings in a really good falsetto here, the lyrics work well. Great chorus - "I ain't born to lose, baby... I'm born to win". Continues quite hard until it goes on a diff direction after the second chorus, very psychedelic. 7.5/10

6) Battery Acid - As caustic as the name suggests, really works well. Prolly the hardest song on the album - Lots of chanting. Would be great to mosh to i think. Fast paced, slowly sung in the verse then spat out like Sick, Sick, Sick in the chorus. just fucking awesome - 9.5/10

7) Make It Wit Chu - Change of pace here - a very mellowed out track. Off Desert Sessions album, 9 & 10. IMO, the greatest song I know of to fuck to. Seriously. Just try it. - 9.5/10

3's & 7's - Apparently is going to be the second single - lots of comparisons to Nirvana's "Smells like teen spirit" - I can't see the resemblance. Fast, blunt( "Lie, Lie to my face, Tell me it ain't no thing - thats what I wanna hear") - kinda weak chorus. Great bridge. Catchy stuff. 8/10

9) Suture Up Your Future - Awesome song, very psychedelic and mind bending sorta track. Would be great getting stoned to. Josh sings great on here - top effort from him. Chorus is undescribable. One of their best tracks ever. - 10/10

10) River in the Road - The first part of the grand ending. Has a tumbling drum beat. Mark Lanegan offers his vocal talents for this song, also sings in a partial falsetto, makes him sound not like himself. Another psychedelic piece. 8.5/10

11) Run Pig Run - The last part, the grandest part.
