Album Title
Hey guys,
It's been a slightly busy month since the last blog in October. James, Andrew and I have been hard at work with the new songs getting them ironed out in time for recording. The songs are all sounding great, so much infulences in them, yet unique in their own way.
The new album is still on track for a Spring/Summer 2010 release, this time around we have the time available and we intend to use it and get each song perfect after all the Exiled EP was recorded in 9 Hours, so this time we'll sound much more tigher and more like a seasoned band.
The title for the Album has been decided (drum roll please).............
.............................."Mid
night Cathedral"
Originally an idea from Andrew and James that grew to have a life of it's own, so we decided to dub the album just that.
James also spoke to Paul Logue (Eden's Curse) this week in detail about the album process, we are very excited regarding what was spoke about, we can definetly say it will make us all sound more crisper. Many thanks again go to Paul for his kindness and advice.
Other than Band stuff, James, Andrew and I were fortunate enough to attend the Y&T w/Ron Keel gig at the ABC in Glasgow on the 30th of October. The gig was a blinder, we were also lucky enough to meet Ron Keel himself, what a true gent the man is.
Also James and myself attended the Saxon w/Anvil gig at the HMV Picture House in Edinburgh on the 6th November, What a joy it was to see Anvil on stage, a first for both of us, later on in the evening we would both meet Anvil's drummer Rob, another great guy. Saxon also played an absolute stormer of a set, which included a suprise entry of 'Broken Heroes'.....simply amazing!
Anyways thats it for this month
Keep Rokken

October Update (Alive & Well!)
Hey all,
Just posting an update as things on here have been quite quiet recently.
We finished up a succesful run of gigs last month in support of our debut EP 'Exiled From Salvation'. We had been gigin since January of this year in support of it and we cannot say how happy we were with the finished project. The EP alone landed us a support slot with Eden's Curse before their UK Tour with Firewind & Stratovarious in May. Also the track 'Hammer Of Fate' from the EP won the Rock Radio Future Classic award with 87% of votes. So we would just like to thank everyone for sticking around and showing their apprecation.
So what it was, Turns into what it's become...
Work started on the new studio record in July, currently we have about 15 songs/ideas floating around, we'll cut them down to the final 10 for the record. We estimated right now for a spring 2010 release. This giving us plenty of time, to record, mix and master and promote.
Also incase you are wondering who we have at the helms mixing this time, non other than Paul 'The Magican' Logue. We wouldnt have anyone else for the project. Mostly because we know Paul's mixing will compliment the band so much.
Album Titles?...well thats all still not be decided. At this precise moment we are going with the working title 'Beyond Redemption'.
Song Titles?...that i can give a little more info on. Current song titles include Space & Time, Lockdown, Save Me For Eternity, Lunacy At It's Best, Faded Innocence & Night Angel. Ofcourse these can change if they are not evil sounding enough or not epic looking hahaha. Also speaking of new songs, we have a nice suprise for our fans who enjoy the heavy side of Savage Union. Andrew has brought an absolute killer track of his into the SU camp which will be included on the Album. Andrew wrote the whole song, aswell as being tremendous on the tubs the boy can shred with the best of them.
Aswell as that we will be opening official Youtube, Facebook & Twitter accounts up in the near future (got to keep up with the young crowd these days hahaha) so watch this space for updates.
Now for the cheap plug of the blog, catch Savage Union's friend's Eden's Curse at the Glasgow Cathouse on the 9th of December 2009. Tickets are available at all ticket retailers. For all the info head over to www.edenscurse.com for the exact details.
Anyways stay in touch folks
We'll cya all down the road.
