Anakin Skywalker is the central character in the Star Wars franchise. The original and prequel trilogies follow Anakin's rise as a vessel of The Force, his fall to the dark side, and his ultimate redemption. In the prequel films, Anakin is a Jedi Padawan, and later a Jedi Knight of legend. As revealed in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, he is the father of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), and the husband of Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman).

In Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, after he falls to the dark side, Anakin becomes the Sith Lord Darth Vader. In Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Anakin (as Vader) is the central villain.

The Force
"May The Force Be With You” The Force as described by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi: "It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together." Master Yoda states "Luminous beings are we, " underscoring the presence of the Force within all living organisms. Some think of the Force as a sentient entity that may be capable of intelligent activities, pervading and infusing the material universe as a sort of panentheistic god, while others consider it merely a resource that can be manipulated and used. A common compromise is that it is an "energy tool" but one which forms a fundamental part of the universe. Fundamental to its nature are certain practical aspects such as its ability to cause change within the physical realm. An analogy is a sword with no handle—it can only be used by gripping the blade and therefore any attempt to strike someone would result in similar harm to the hand of the striker—the sword itself has no sentience
Jedi
The Jedi are members of an ancient and noble monastic organization from the fictional Star Wars universe, known for their talent in and observance of The Force. Using the living things around them to manipulate the Force and wielding their signature lightsabers, members of the Jedi Order fought for peace and justice in the Galactic Republic for between 20 000- 25 000 years prior to the Battle of Yavin. Many Jedi are central characters in the Star Wars movies and additional works, including Yoda, Mace Windu, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker. Their philosophical rivals and opposites are the Sith.
Sith
The first use of the word Sith (in the Star Wars Universe) was in the script and novelization for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, as a title for Darth Vader, the "Dark Lord of the Sith". George Lucas did not explain exactly what this meant, however. Early works of Expanded Universe fiction interpreted the term "Lord of the Sith, " under the guidance of Lucas, as meaning that there was some sort of group that Darth Vader was lord over, and from this created the story of the Sith race, who were enslaved by early practitioners of the dark side. This refers to the events that were fleshed out and detailed in the Tales of the Jedi series of comics written by and large by Kevin J. Anderson and Tom Veitch.
My Light-Saber
The lightsaber is the name of a fictional weapon that plays a key role in the movies, games and novels that constitute the Star Wars universe. Lightsabers are science fiction versions of their namesake, the saber, but with the metal blade replaced by something resembling a solid bar or cylindrical beam of plasma about one meter long. Lightsabers differ in color (red, blue, green and purple have appeared in the six films, and other colors appear in the Expanded Universe). Though they often behave like regular swords, they have been depicted as able to penetrate and cut through most matter with little or no resistance, and to deflect shots from blasters, the ranged weapons used in the Star Wars franchise. Obi-Wan Kenobi described them as "an elegant weapon for a more civilized age."
C-3PO
C-3PO (pronounced IPA: [si.'θɹi.pi.oʊ].', often shortened to Threepio) is a fictional character from the Star Wars universe, who appears in both the original Star Wars films and the prequel trilogy. He is also a major character in the television show Star Wars: Droids, and appears frequently in the series' "Expanded Universe" of novels, comic books, and video games. C-3PO is one of the few characters to appear in all six of the Star Wars feature films, and one of the very few to be played six times by the same actor. In all his various appearances, he is portrayed by Anthony Daniels.

  • Facts about me

In the timeline of the Star Wars films, Anakin first appears in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace as a selfless nine-year-old boy (played by Jake Lloyd). He is a slave in the service of Watto, a junk dealer. A child prodigy, Anakin excels at engineering; even at his young age, he can build or repair nearly anything, evidenced by the creation of his own protocol droid, C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), and podracer, each from salvaged parts. He is also a remarkable pilot with quick reflexes due to his Jedi powers of seeing the future through the midi-chlorians in his blood.

Anakin is found on the planet Tatooine by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson), who is convinced that he is the "Chosen One" foretold by the Jedi prophecy to bring balance to the Force. His mother, Shmi (Pernilla August), says that he has no father, and that she simply became pregnant with him. Qui-Gon discovers that Anakin has the highest known number of midi-chlorians, a measure of Force-aptitude, and theorizes that the boy is the "Chosen One" of Jedi prophecy destined to bring balance to the Force. Anakin forms a strong bond with Queen Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman), whom Qui-Gon and his padawan apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), are guarding.
