- Achin' Promotions is an organisation promoting the young bands from Drogheda & the surrounding areas. We are currently setting up a Battle Of The Bands which will take place in the months of November & December with the final taking place early in the new year.
Bands will have a chance to show their skills to an ever growing fan base, 4 experienced judges & the media of Drogheda.
Anyone wishing to enter must fill out the entry forms that will be provided from Emmett Nugent, Andy McDonagh, Paul Brogan & Brian O Loinsigh and return them as soon as possible.
News, reviews & photos will be posted here after every heat.
Details of the gigs shall be provided in the Blog,so check it out!!!
Have fun with the quiz on our page, whoever has the highest percentage score by the day of the final gets themselves a nice PRIZE on the night of the final!!!!

and on this date we have some of the best bands in Drogheda all fighting for the chance to win a three day all expenses paid recording with K9 studios up in Blackrock(www.k9studio.com). And the bands are...Slutty lil Bandits, Idle Generator, The Motherfunkers, Pearl Seven, Run on Air and Holy Matrimony...The Smokeable Cowboys will also be showing their faces as the guest band on the night!!!

BAR at the final!!
ok so the papers have printed up that there will be a bar open at the final for the over 18s heads to buzz to during bands...however, this decision has been reversed and there will now be no bar at the final. It has come to our attention that some of/alot of people will not be allowed go if such a thing is done. We have also had problems with people drinking before the gigs and causing trouble during and after gigs, so we feel if a bar was opened it would cause more trouble at the gig.
We are thinking, however, of holding an after-party in the other room in the back part of the Star & Crescent. If we do there will be limited tickets for it and bands will receive passes to it on the night.
So in a nutshell..Bar = Bad...After Party = Good

Final Thoughts??
the final of the botb is less then 1 month away and with the matrimony propaganda machine in full swing we want your thoughts on whos gunna win
scripture says holy matrmony will win with the talent vested in them by god...but scripture tends to lie and leave out the important bits like the fact that jesus married a prostitute so its not very reliable
ross leahy of the motherfunkers also rejects their allmighty influnece claiming 'il make you all regurgitate when i shove my foot down your troat' thems fightin words and the motherfunkers with support from god or not will be there or there abouts come the end
pearl seven suprised many in the 4th heat and eventualy came through as heat winners they have easily the most girls of all the bands in the final.john farrell is among the bands celebrity fans claimin during one of his ego-filled rants 'their nearly as deadly as me'
idle generator came up with a suprise win in heat 3will they be in contention by the end??
slutty lil bandits put on a great show in the first heat and tho they are not backed by any of the major gods one band member has been known to pray to a large cat for luck from time to time
run on air took to the stage for the first time as an electric group in heat 2 and impressed many will they repeat their success at the final
all in all the stage is set for a great final

Ok folks here is the lineup for the final of the B.O.T.B. Its been a tough competition but here are the 6 survivors:

Seeing as THE GAZE pulled out they will be providing some entertainment for the crowd while the judges are finalising the scores.
it is gonna be an amazing final and the competition is very stiff so its gonna be hella fun!!!
Its more than likely gonna be at the end of February, as there is a charity gig on in January(who need the full support of all you guys so get down there).
