Emma Rigby (born 26 September 1989 in St Helens, Merseyside) is an English actress, best known for her role in Hollyoaks as Hannah Ashworth. She attended the De La Salle High School in St Helens, but left in 2006 to take up her role in Hollyoaks. She took her GCSEs in 2006 and supposedly received 9 A*'s despite her heavy and awfully strenuous Hollyoaks filming schedule.


Emma is represented by the Lamont Casting Agency in Liverpool, and beside her acting career, she has also done some modelling work.


Emma's portrayal of Hannah Ashworth's battle with anorexia attracted rare praise from the Daily Mail. Their TV critic Jaci Stephen, writing in the paper's TV listings magazine on 24 November 2007, said the Hollyoaks storyline had "taught her more than any drama or documentary on anorexia has ever done". Stephen also admitted some of Hannah's scenes had moved her to tears.
