Welcome to the site of the Glasgow & Lanarkshire Battalion Army Cadet Force. The ACF is a voluntary youth organisation sponsored by the Army. It is open to both males & females between the ages of 12 & 18 years. Army Cadets are taught discipline, and respect. Cadets also learn various skills throughout their time in the ACF which they can put to use in future years.

There are 23 Detachments based throughout the Glasgow & Lanarkshire area and we are always actively seeking new members, including cadets for the newly formed Pipes & Drums Detachment and also Adult Instructors between the ages of 18 & 55. If your thinking of becoming an Adult Instructor dont worry there is no experience required, and we will train you in all subjects you may also be entitled to a few days pay.

Sports
In the ACF you can take part in a wide range of sports such as Football, Athletics, X Country, Archery, Volleyball, Hockey, Canoeing, Kayaking, Hillwalking and much more
Skills
Cadets learn skills such as:- Map Reading, Piping & Drumming, Canoeing/Kayaking Coaching, Leadership, Organisational and many more
Qualifications
Army Cadets can gain lots of qualifications throughout their service such as, Duke of Edinburghs award, B-Tec, First Aid
Places we Go
As a member of the ACF you could have the chance to visit foreign countries such as Canada, Kenya, Germany, and more

    2Troop Scots DG recently attended the Veterans Lunch held at the Royal British Legion in East Kilbride.
    there where many dignatories in attendence not to mention all the Veterans which included both of Sgt Hindley's parents.
    the cadets assisted the many Veterans by helping with drinks and sandwiches and most importantly just chatting with the Veterans and listening to stories of there time in the Armed Forces.
    the Cadets of 2Troop recieved many compliments including that of the Brigadier himself a Royal Scots Dragoon Guard who commented on how well turned out the Troop where and how seeing them wearing their uniform and distinctive Grey berets made him feel very proud.
    the cadets have already been invited to attend next years event as they did such a sterling job, one veteran commented "they are a credit to both themselves and the Army Cadet Force, you should all be very proud".

    Ryt no promblems, in the Bro's It said that the DofE is to be held at anuall but Lt. Liddel was up at the hall tonight and he said it was a deffenate thats it's happning on Wednesday. I will phone Lt. Paterson tomoro and find out, but if it is the cace it is next wednesday I might not be abel to because of my work, they like 2-3 weeks knotes about holedies and because I was under the impreshon that the Gold was at Anuall I never booked the origenal D of E dates for the Qualifyer.
    If the worst comes to it I would have to pull out which is the last thing that I want to do.
    Enyways thanks for the Heads up and I will call Mr Paterson themoz.
