Dress Style: Voldemort knows many things about the care and keeping of power, and how to make it grow; fear and awe often add to the power a wizard has in the minds of men. Therefore, the Dark Lord takes care to be as unearthly as possible in appearance. He only ever wears black; it gives the impression that he is a sort of dark god, and the consistency in color and cut help to maintain that illusion, for more varied robes would be a distraction. In cut, they are always long, covering all of his body save his long-fingered, spidery hands, some of his neck and his face. He usually wears a heavy black cloak over his black robes, with the cowl up to create shadows over his distorted, waxy features. Manner of Speech: Voldemort has a high, cold voice; his laugh is eerie and otherworldly, inspiring fear, not least because he rarely laughs save when about to cause someone pain. Pain, Voldemort finds funny, when it is others who hurt. He takes everything else seriously. His voice reeks of suppressed power; there is tenseness in every syllable, for he says nothing casually. It is impossible to tell his true purpose or meaning when he says something. Personal History, Relationships, Friends:

Tom Marvolo Riddle was born one minute before midnight on New Years’ Eve, 1927 (see note on dates from canon at end). His mother died shortly afterward, and Tom was entrusted to the care of Stockwell Orphanage, in Lambeth, London. He is a very, very rational man; it is just that his goals and ambitions are horrific to most humans, even to most wizards. Also contrary to popular opinion, Voldemort is not a psychopath or sociopath as defined by psychiatrists, lacking the irrationality and inability to plan. Though he does display some narcissistic traits, neither is he a true narcissist, for he is not driven by a need for instant gratification.

Whether a lack of insanity makes Lord Voldemort sane, however, is another matter entirely. Outstandingly arrogant, deeply paranoid, completely incapable of empathizing with another human being, he is also the most brilliant man of his generation – and, indeed, of any of the generations overlapping with his. Even Albus Dumbledore is not quite so fiercely intelligent, though he is, perhaps, far wiser.
