Global Hoops has raised over 30, 000 pounds for Charity in just under six years. Beneficiaries include Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation, Kiva, Oxfam, Operation Smile, St Baldricks Foundation, Kevin Healey, Kids for Lourdes, Shelter, NADS, Yorkhill Hospital, Inverclyde Hospital, Motor Neurone Disease, CCF, New York Soup Kitchen Brother Walfrid Wells, Plan USA, Myanmar Aid, Phil O'Donnell Tribute, NCH Scotland, Dnipro Kids, Unicef and St Barnabas Health Care Foundation, Catherine O'Leary, Hoop A Child and New Orleans CSC.

Global Hoops is pleased to announce the date, prices, location, themes, invitees and other events for the Dance 2010.

Date, Prices and Location

It will be in the Kerrydale Suite again on Saturday April 3rd 2010.

First of all we freezing the prices at

Members £26
Kids/OAPs £20
Non Members £30

We hope members recognise our committment to them in that respect.

Orders can be taken now, payments accepted from Jan 1st 2010, deadline for payments March 18th 2010.
Themes

The theme as always, is twofold, the first is the team and management who stopped 10 in a row in season 1997/98

The second part is North America and the part our members there play in Global Hoops. We want to push and shove to get all members obviously there but especially the following to recognise the incredible part the following play in Global Hoops.

    • Aims for 2008

      Global Hoops:Aims and objectives for 2008.

      1) To run a successful dance on April 5th 2008.

      As it is our 5th Anniversary, it is essential we run a dance as celebration. For too long we have bowed down to negativity and apathy and cancelled instead of going for it. It can be too easy to say "I'm not going and I'm not selling any tickets". Imagine if we took that attitude when you asked us to do something? 150 tickets is our bear minimum in sales, we have first team players coming, legends coming, the European Cup will be there, there is no excuse. Tickets are 27 pounds for members, 30 pounds for non members and orders now to globalhoopscsc@yahoo.co.uk If you want Accom for that weekend contact rabtait@aol.com or phone him on 07717413085

      2) To raise 5000 for charity

      We raised 6000 last year and have already raised 770 this year, we feel this is an achievable target and underlines our committment to others less fortunate than ourselves. The sponsored walks go ahead as usual.

      3) To get 50 online members

      We have 40 online members just now,we want 50. Can we do it? Do you know someone who would join? At the end of the day, we all know other Celtic supporters and it baffles us when we hear people say "so and so was looking for a ticket and couldn't get one" when they would have got one had they been a member here. It's time we all stepped up.

      4) To keep the club and Joe Clark Fund financially secure.

      All dance profits are going to the Joe Clark Fund. The club runs fine if everyone pays subs and BB on time, it's that simple. We will run 2 race nights(May and Sept) for specific causes.

      5) To further promote the club through merchandise and club advancements in technology.

      We have a new logo for 2008 and have updated the website We also have the bebo site www.bebo.com/globalhoops and this month we are introducing our new webmail system. Overseen by Mik , this will give members a unique chance to hear all Mik's rumours, club announcements and interact with members by talking to them via webcams through the computer. Although in its infancy, we plan to use this for things like getting members who can't make it a chance to see the dance live.

    • Global Hoops:Aims and objectives.

      We have three main objectives as a club, they are explained in many different languages on the languages page here:

      Aim 1 :

      Members needs.

      These are are our number one priority. Whether it's a ticket for a game, accom for a night or a shoulder to cry on, we want to provide it. We like to think of ourselves as a family in this club, one that goes way beyond just supporting Celtic. We are here for our members whatever they want, need or have a problem with. We have a dedicated committee who live to help people and a membership that does not stand idly by when one of it's own needs it. We get a good supply of match tickets and there are no cliques involved. Everyone gets a fair crack of the whip and we can provide tickets to all games for an individual member if given enough notice. We can also get things like players shirts, signed jersey's and all sorts of unique things from Celtic. Put simply, the more you put into Global Hoops, the more you'll get out.

      Helping others less fortunate than ourselves.

      We are big believers in the reasons that Celtic were founded. To form a football club to feed, clothe and house the poverty-stricken people of the east end of Glasgow was a unique and special achievement. We like to support various charities throughout our existence and do one week a year(in September) devoted to charity. This takes the form of a sponsored walk and Race Night. Similarly we react to things like the New Orleans CSC being destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and help where we can.
