- Hey all!! This is a "band" set up by the Kerry Comhaltas youth officers for the youth involved in Comhaltas in Kerry! We want to use this page as a way of hearing what you want to say and hearing all the ideas that you may have for making Comhaltas better and more accessible for the youth involved in Comhaltas in Kerry!! We would love any suggestions that you might have concerning activities that you would like to see carried out in the county...whatever those activities are, we hope that they can be carried out in the future with the help of us youth officers! We would like to draw the emphasis away from the hard work involved in taking part in competitions etc and we would like to organise more fun events. We need your help in making Comhaltas more fun in Kerry! Thanks very much!

Harp and Uilleann Pipes
Are you or someone you know interested in learning the Harp or Uilleann Pipes, but don’t know where to start? One of the biggest challenges for someone hoping to learn these instruments is the difficulty in actually acquiring them in the first place. The Kerry County Board has agreed a rental scheme for Harps and Uilleann Pipes through which branches or individuals will be able to rent these instruments. One of the aims of Comhaltas is the promote the playing of the harp and Uilleann pipes and this is one of the areas that Kerry is particularly weak in. If any individual or branch is interested in getting these instruments, then please contact James Duggan on 0860738268 as soon as possible0 Comments 79 days

Piano and drumming classes.
Following on from last year’s workshops, it is hoped to run a series of classes for céilí band drumming and traditional piano accompaniment over the coming months. These will be held in the IT Tralee on Saturdays. These are particularly aimed at children who already play an instrument and may wish to expand their musical skills. Classes are dependent on interest so if interested, or for more information please contact James Duggan on 0860738268 as soon as possible.0 Comments 79 days
