Anyway, the group was started after reminiscing with some friends about how much cooler TV shows were 'back in the day.'
I never thought so many people would be interested but wow, look at all our members now :)
It's awesome to see what people remember, and what everyone's faves were. Getting some cool memories being shared which is awesome!

Lotsa pics, check them all out. And the same with the videos. Seem to be able to add more than 60 now...So that's sweet!
If there's anything you wanna see ( a good idea for a poll or anything like that) then drop me (Emma) or one of the other moderators a message and we will work some magic!

  • ON THE HUNT FOR A COOL NEW MODERATOR!!!

    We have all been so slack and haven't updated in MONTHS! :(
    Sorry, life gets hectic sometimes! Just never seem to find the time anymore.
    SO....
    If anyone thinks they have any good ideas for the group, or could do a better job than us current mods then leave a comment under this blog and you might just find yourself a new moderator! :D EXCITING STUFF! :L
    Let us know what you think you could bring to the group, what your fave shows are, what ideas you have for polls/quizzes WHATEVER! Just babble on about how great you are! :) I'll pick the new mod in a week or two....

  • Old School Day antics.

    I guess this blog mainly only applies to all our NZ members...so sorry all you others but feel free to add your memories too! And not related to old TV shows sorry...but it's always awesome to reminisce about other things of days gone by also!

    Remember all the fun wee events (I guess you could call them) back in your primary school days?? Here's some examples...feel free to add more as you remember them!!

    ENZA Apple Crunch Day: Ya know, where your school would get boxes and boxes of apples and at lunch time each kid would get one each (and they were usually gross bruised ones!) and everyone would have to sit together, and at exactly the same time everyone would have to take a BIG bite of their apple. It was even broadcast on radio...there would be a big countdown and everything to make sure all the schools across NZ were biting their apples at the same time!!
    Personally, I always hated it coz I could never take big bites and other kids would laugh! :(
    Does anyone know what this day was for?? Just to encourage us to eat apples??

    Jump Rope For Heart: I think schools still do this actually, but not on such a big scale. Remember the day of skipping? It went all afternoon at my school! And you would have to get people to sponsor you per hour of skipping or something to that effect. It was to raise money for the Heart Foundation, but to the kids it was a great way to get out of school work for a few hours! And the girls always enjoyed showing off their jump rope skills! (Who could do Double Dutch!?)

    Book It!: This one was GREAT :D It ran for a few months and you would have to read lots of books and keep a log of all the books you read, which would have to be signed off by a teacher or parent, I think. Anyway, once you read five (maybe 10) books you got a sticker to stick on your super cool, super big Book It! badge. And then even cooler was when you got five or six stickers on your badge you got a voucher for Pizza Hutt! I think when it first started it was a voucher for one free small pizza and a drink?? And then it changed to a free Kids Works. Correct me if I'm wrong, it's been at least 14 years since I last took part! I'm all for this one coming back, great to encourage kids to read! Although, probably not quite so PC in today's times to be promoting Pizza Hutt!

    And of course Red Sock Day: Not a school event as such, it was a national thing, but we always had to take part at school. During the America's Cup everyone wore "lucky' red socks in support of Sir Peter Blake and Team New Zealand.

    Hi all!

    Sorry that nothing new has been added in so long! I will try harder to remedy this! Added a new poll today, and will work on a new quiz to get up also!
    But as always, if there is anything you want to see then leave a comment on this blog and I will try get it up for you :D
