Oh ho! where to begin? I quite like going to the cinema ye know except for when I spend the money. Recently I saw Watchmen and it was ok. I'm not much of an action movie guy, thats for saps-but a good rom-com will catch my attention for a good two hours. There hasnt been anything really breathtaking as of late unless you count the formidable Yes Man which robbed many of the will to live, oh! Jim Carrey when are you going to grow up and act your age?

    • Gran Torino (2009) Review

      Clint Eastwood brings us a film equipped with the essentials for a classic; top notch acting, a dynamite screenplay and superb drama.
      Clint plays an old man left in a state of ruin: his wife has just died, his mind is murky with distraught and he holds no love for his family. Living in solidarity, overlooked by a young priest, he displays deep dislike of those who badger him in his day to day life. What truly ticks him off is when his new neighbour attempts to steal his old 1972 Gran Torino. A face mingled with disgust and contempt for the petty thief, he holds a rifle at arm's lenght, ready for vengeance.
      Old Clint goes on to find that this neighbour is like a true grandson to him though when he begins working for him. A film filled with horror and prejudice gives great insight into the falling standards of human decency and the conscience of an old war veteran.
      A stunning piece. No grade less than this would suffice.
