- The story starts with many of the thundercat nobles fleeing from a dying planet they know as thundera in a bid to protect the soon to be lord and leader of the thundercats lion-o and safeguard the eye of thundera the source of the thundercats power, which is embedded in the hilt of the mystic sword of omens.
Each of the fleeing ships are attacked by a band of mutants from plun darr who are seeking the swords ancient power to use for evil. They manage to destroy many of the ships before boarding the lead ship which is holding lion-o and the sacred sword.
Whilst aboard the ship they come across the sword but are driven back by the power of the eye but they have damaged the navigation system and the engine in there efforts that then lead to the thundercats crash landing on the planet third earth.
Over the course of the 130 episodes the thundercats come across many allies like the robear berbils and encounter many enemies none more so than the evil devil priest mumm ra the self proclaimed "ever living source of evil" on third earth .

You didnt mention Lynxo, who was older and blind with a sort of radar sense similar to the comic book hero daredevil, Bengali, the master blacksmith of thundera who looked like a white version of tygra, Pumyra, the Second adult female thundercat who could travel vast distances by leaping from spot to spot, and Snarfer, Snarfs nephew who contsantly forgets to call his uncle Snarf instead of his real name (Osbert). What a Show, and its still fantastic now!
you fortgot to add lynxo, Bengalia and pumyra to the thundercat list. this was a great show. Which can now be bought on play or other DVD sites from WB are selling them as i believe they have the rights to it.
