What goes on?
There's free time from 6.45pm, as people make their way in. You can either occupy yourself with the games available, or you can merely get the banter with your friends. Some time after 7, we'll kick off the night with a crazy group ice-breaker.
After that, the roots band lead us in praise to God. Then the main event: a talk from one of the leaders. This term is entitled 'Look Who's Listening' and is based on the Lord's prayer. The leaders believe the whole Bible to be the Word of God and so look to it in their talks as the only authority for faith n’ life.
The evening always ends with many snacks and much hilarity.... then you get the chance to go home and think about what you’ve heard.
Periodically, we will also put on special events (i.e. a ceilidh, movie night, bbq,bungee run, outreach event, etc.), so keep your ear to the ground and your eye on the website!

Roots Informed Prayer Time (RIPT)
Excited about what’s around the corner?…Worried about your best friend at the moment?…Chuffed about all the good things in your life? Well, God wants to hear all about your anxieties and joys. At roots we see prayer as an essential part of what we do - we know God hears us and he blesses, guides and renews our trust as we pray to him.This year roots is having informed prayer times (RIPT) for young people and adults connected to roots. We need to pray for the work of roots but we also want to pray more expansively for individuals and youth groups throughout the Highlands.
RIPT meets on the last Tuesday before the Roots meeting on the Friday.

What is Roots?
Our PURPOSE ...to teach young people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ through expounding God’s word in a relevant and practical way. We believe God’s word to be the power unto salvation and useful for rebuking, correcting, and training up in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). Our intention at ROOTS is to extend the Gospel to those who need it and remind those who forgot it.
Our DESIRE...to see the Church grow. Roots understands the importance of the Church as the living body of Christ and our purpose is to equip these young people to serve, love, and cherish her as Christ demonstrated and taught (Ephesians 5:25-33).
Our MOTIVATION...to cultivate a generation who serve and love other people. We believe if the Gospel gets down to the Roots, the heart will be propelled to serve and love others as Jesus did.0 Commentaren 692 dagen

Roots was awesome last night. Great chance to meet all you guys, looking forward to the next one!
RIPT rocked last night! Great spirit as we prayed about different things in connection to Roots. We know that God hears our prayers, answers them and blesses them accordingly!

Lemme just say how much of a blessing RIPT was last night. Thank you to everyone who attended.
