Informazioni personali

Tutto su di me
Kia ora,

My name is Sonny Thomas, I am 20 - at Vic Uni doing a double degree BA, BSc in Politics and Geography.

I love politics, music, good movies, coffee, red wine and a good natter with interesting people (Wellington is good for that).

I really don't like wankers, and I try to avoid them at all costs - I feel it's the easist thing to do.

  • The Prime Minister who never could

Unlike William Fox who had four shots at being Prime Minister all at different times for periods of a fortnight, to a few months. And even managed to get elected when he was out of the country, and not actively seeking the nomination - Mike Moore was the Prime Minister who never could and never did.

Fox at least passed legislation in his third run at the Premiership, the University of New Zealand Act and the Land Transfer Registration Act.

Moore is by no means New Zealand's shortest serving Prime Minister - Henry Sewell lasted a fortnight - Moore managed 7 weeks atleast - but his crowning jewel is the fact that he remains the first male politician to be rolled by a woman. And in the boys club that is Parliament, his little ego was bruised a bit I guess. I think it's silly that this seems to have taken it's toll on him.

Bitterly Moore has come out and claimed that Helen is involved in what he calls "politics of personal destruction". Moore was involved in politics of personal destruction - he destroyed himself! He ruined his own career in politics, by letting his ego get in the way.

His claims are silly and pathetic. He needs to get over himself and move on!

  • Fuck Men's Rights Groups!

I know I said that I would get back to work - well I didn't. Started visiting Men's Rights websites to see their irrational response to the news about the Domestic Violence Act letting women down. (Campbell Live had a good story - http://www.tv3.co.nz/VideoBrowseAll/...

And what I came across was so infuriating! http://nzmera.orcon.net.nz/dvreply.html

Further, they NZMERA wrote an open letter to Helen Clark about the police sexual misconduct inquiry, asking:
    1. What part of your job description has to do with providing moral leadership for the country ?
    2. What mandate do you have to usurp this role from religious leaders, etc. ?
    3. What moral -- as opposed to political -- authority do you dream that you have in the country ?
    4. What credibility do you or the Commissioners have to lay down moral guidelines, given that:

    * You yourself know that you are widely believed to have got married purely in order to scotch rumours about your sexuality ?
    * You have obviously been a strong supporter of equal rights for homosexuals and lesbians in all relevant respects;
    * You have recently made prostitution legal in this country; and
    * You have long been in favour of killing unborn children if that suits the lifestyle of the mother -- and in total disregard for the rights of the father.

Read the rest of their letter here: http://nzmera.orcon.net.nz/pmraving.html

    They are sick and wrong!

  • Wellington - Crazyville!

Parliamentary recess only means something in Wellington - less MPs occupying seats in Cafes, restaurants and marching up and down Lambton Quay in a busy and important way. Recess is one of those terms that only makes sense within the comfort of the 'Thorndon Bubble'.

Much like the term 'Chief Whip' - the odd folk from the provinces (places with more grass than civilisation, and people with IQs smaller than my little toe) just allow their dirty minds to get a little excited at the prospect of Anne Tolley whipping the Member from Piako, Lindsay Tisch. It's all too much really.

Most capital cities are fascinatingly, bizarre places. London, Washington, Canberra, Moscow, Berlin, Rome, Athens and Ottawa to name a few. The bureaucratic and political hub of each country, people believing their power and influence means more than it really does. Egos so extreme they can only be matched by Hollywood.

No doubt the infinitely flexible National or Labour or Green or whatever Party Leader, JK will be out and about flip flopping all over the place. Unsure what his position is, is climate change happening? Well he's not sure, but then he is...

Meanwhile, Auntie Helen is out and about making a real difference to people. http://www.beehive.govt.nz/Minister....

What recess means for the political junkie is - NO NEWS! Which means I have to spend my time with impersonal cyber-folk on things like Bebo, Facebook and YouTube (btw - John Safran - is a God!).

Anyway, I divert... back to work (begrudgingly).

People in the provinces should not be allowed to vote, unless they are capable of living in urban centres.

This latest comment from a deranged mad man shows just how desperate they are. It's the weakest link in the world to label me a Nazi. It's so easy. You just have to say it, I could call you a Nazi for being a prejudiced TWAT - do I? NO! Piss off back to the dark little whole you crawled out of you creepy little man.

"There is a healthier balance that is trying to be achieved. And if it weren't for stubborn assholes, like yourself it would happen."

Could have come straight out of the mouth of a Nazi to a Jew.

There's no "stobborn asshole" quite like a Socialist, be it Hitler, Stalin, Ceauşescu, or that idiot that's running your country.

Anti-male laws brought in by leftist parties (that treat men as second-class citizens) is not something I intend to take likely, and I fully understand that your corrupt party wants men to take them likely.
