About Me

Me, Myself, and I
"It's a salute to what I call the 'Gangsta Nation,' which is people who like it hard-core who do it in their own way," Ice Cube says. "Everybody knows what gangster represents out here. It ain't always a criminal thang. It's just somebody that won't conform, somebody that doesn't want to do it the way the plan is laid out. They want to do it their own way, so we're saluting them."

"Evacuate the building · here come a plane," Mack 10 raps on "Gangsta Nation."
"No, it's the mad-ass Westside Connect Gang."

You've been warned.!..!!..

  • Bow Down

    "Bow Down" made the Westside Connection one of the most respected and despised rap groups of all time. They were loved for their blunt discussion of any topic, their top-tier lyricism and their bone-crushing production. But they were despised for exposing the prejudice that runs rampant throughout the rap industry.

  • Terrorist Threats

    Now, with "Terrorist Threats," Westside Connection returns to form with the same sense of purpose they had back in 1996. The times have changed, but Westside Connection is as vital today as they were when they had to defend the West Coast's place in hip-hop.

  • BIOGRAPHY

    ICE CUBE :: THE GANGSTA

    Ice Cube began his career with the notorious gangsta rap group N.W.A, later breaking away at the height of their national notoriety. On his initial solo release, 1990's Amerikkka's Most Wanted, Ice Cube injected virulent political and cultural rhetoric that stepped above N.W.A's gangbanging braggadocio. Rising above the bi-coastal rap rivalry, Cube joined New York's hip-hop heavyweights Public Enemy, creating the Bomb Squad.

    Ice Cube continued to release powerful albums, and became a lightning rod for attracting attacks from rock critics and moralists for his lyrical content. Time has shown that his ruthless words and pointed imagery are not included for shock-value.

    In 1992, Ice Cube continued his vocal incursion into suburban America with a role in John Singleton's epic film on South Central LA, Boyz In The Hood, initiating his successful Hollywood career. Later in the 90's, Ice Cube continued to release solo albums and act, and began projects with Westside Connection.

    WC :: THE KILLA
    Before forming Westside Connection with Cube and Mack 10, WC rose through the ranks as lead lyricist for groups Low Profile and Maad Circle. After the success of Westside, WC also released a pair of solo albums, The Shadiest One and Ghetto Heisman.

    Obviously no stranger to successful collaborative efforts, WC has also worked with the likes of Coolio and Mariah Carey, and contributed to the Gang Related Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

    MACK 10 :: THE DOPE DEALER
    In 1995 Mack 10 emerged from the West Coast, amid the much publicized tension between the East and West rap scenes. Ice Cube collaborated with Mack 10 on his first hit single, "Foe Life," and soon thereafter they formed Westside Connection with WC and released Bow Down.

    In addition to the Westside projects, Mack 10 has released solid solo records, including Based On A True Story, Recipe, and The Paper Route.
