MAK met at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) Juniors department. They play an exciting mix of traditional and new Scottish tunes with a distinctive classical and jazz influenced piano accompaniment. All members of the band have played in many prestigious festivals in Scotland too including Celtic Connections, Scots Fiddle Festival and Burns an’ a’ that Festival with the North Ayrshire Traditional Music Group. They have performed at the outstanding Cambridge Folk Festival in 2007 and recently were semi-finalists in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award.

Cambridge Folk Festival!
Just back from Cambridge and it was immense. We played in the club tent and got a really good reception. It was an all round amazing festival. Next year should be even better.
