- Well, we have been in Belfast since February, life has not been easy, but then serving God was never meant to be. It is very different to what we expected, many Churches are dying because they are caught up in tradition and religion, afraid to move because it may upset the odd member. These Churches are doing nothing for their community and have become social clubs!
We are part of an awesome Church, New Life City Church, an Elim Church under Ps Jack McKee, a great man of God. This Church is really moving and is a joy to be connected with.
Sadly as our financial situation worsens it looks as if we may soon have to return to NZ as our money is just about gone. Both Carole and I have not been able to get paying work and although I am entitled to a small benefit, Carole is not, which is now making life somewhat difficult for us.
We will continue in oure belief that God has brought us here for a reason and place our trust in Him as always. Who really understands God's plan for us? - Music
- I enjoy all music, especially some Christian bands such as Delirious and Hillsong, also enjoy Andre Rieu, rock 'n' roll, meatloaf, 70's Glam Rock, The Shows, Irish, Swing, Paul Potts, anything really except rap.
- Films
- Zulu, The Simpsons, Field of Dreams, Saving Private Ryan, Simon Birch, James Bond, Old war movies, Mrs Caldicott's Cabbage War, Forrest Gump, Amazing Grace. Just saw "The Bucket List" thought it was great.
- Sports
- Not really into sports now, used to like a game of rugby, watching and playing, and was heavily involved in martial arts, but now I prefer the quiet life and spending quality time with the people that I love.
- Scared Of
- Losing my wallet, not because of the money, but because my whole life is inside of that in the form of different plastic cards!
- Happiest When
- With my wife, in Church, praising God. Eating a good curry, Drinking a great coffee, Shopping for anything, travelling and meeting new people.Preaching the word of God.Listening to great Preachers. Studying the Bible. talking about God to the unsaved.
- Dislike
- Bad manners, rudeness and offensive behaviour, it costs nothing to be polite, discrimination of any sort, judgemental people, Soap Operas, vandalism of any kind.Volkswagen Beetles (I used to own one, so have good reasons)Churches that are stagnant, not reaching out in any way to the unsaved, God is still present but He is not having a party! People with small, petty minds who will not look at the big picture.New dislike is the security measures at international airports, sadly a necessary evil. Lambs Fry (Liver) Tripe, Kidneys etc, anything from the inside of an animal!!

Belfast
Hi All,
plans for our move to Belfast, Northern Ireland next year are picking up pace. We have booked and paid for our flights, having a few days in Bangkok on the way, so that Carole can do some retail therapy lol. We leave Invercargill on 2nd Feb, travel to Christchurch to say goodbye to family and friends and then on to Auckland, leaving there the next day, Waitangi Day 6th Feb. We arrive in London on Friday the 13th Feb and travel down to mevagissey in cornwall for a week to visit my favourite relative who has been so good to us, and then returning for a few days to London, we eventually reach Belfast on Thursday 26th Feb 2009.
We believe that a great move of God is coming and that Belfast is going to play a huge part in it. When I was there last year you could taste it in the air, feel the very prescence of God around you, it was like the calm before the storm. God has directed us to be a part of His plans, why else would we sell up and move from the ends of the earth to a foreign city with no income, accomodation or anything else arranged? We believe that by being faithful to God that He will provide.
I finish my degree studies on 20th November, 3 years of hard fulltime study, 3 years of internship. I finish with 3 final exams and then an interview before a panal of Pastors, Ministers, Laypeaople and Bible College lecturers who will question me on my philosophy of ministry (please feel free to pray for me!)
We are looking forward to the task ahead, the new friendships and opportunities which await us on the other side of the world as we attempt to bring more glory to God by helping to extend His Kingdom.

Holy Spirit Found in Area Man’s Basement

Police discovered the Holy Spirit trapped inside an area man’s home on Tuesday morning. Police raided the home of Larry Thompson, age 53, after a neighbor noticed “strange sounds” coming from the man’s basement. There, police discovered the Holy Spirit, trapped in an large glass bottle.
Missing since 1986, the Holy Spirit has been a misunderstood, mysterious, force in the world of Christian thought. Police only began searching for the Holy Spirit recently, since no one had filed a mission persons report.
“We didn’t know he was gone,” said Pastor Lynn Spalding of Trinity Lutheran Church. “Our faith doesn’t require the validation of experience.”
Oddly enough, even local Assembly of God pastor Frank Ortiz didn’t realize that the Holy Spirit had been kidnapped. “We just assumed that he was withholding his presence from us until we were worthy for revival,” said the Pentecostal minister.
When local Baptist pastor Charles Graham was told that the Holy Spirit had been found, he expressed surprise: “You mean there actually IS a Holy Spirit?”
Thompson tried ransoming the Holy Spirit several times between 1986 and 1995, but Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, and Pentecostal leadership were unwilling to pay the $250,000 ransom price. As ransom attempts failed, Thompson stored the Holy Spirit away in his basement for “safe keeping.”
According to early reports, Thompson “completely forgot about the Holy Spirit” until several months ago, when the Spirit started to groan wordlessly. Eventually, the groans became loud enough to upset neighbors.

It's officially summer here-humidity and high temps...don't go together well-lol But, I'd rather have the hot than the cold!! I noticed the pic of your wife with the tiger.....how brave is she!? Wow, how'd you get those invites? Do you already own a home in Belfast or are you renting?
I'm doing ok, I'm also still looking for work. Waiting to hear back from church HQ as to whether or not they will send me on a mission. I actually looked into getting a work visa in Belfast but unfortunetly Ireland and the UK aren't allowing "yanks" to come. So thats out for now.
Other than church how are you liking the locale? Is Carloe doing well?

my company is no problem but I am thrilled to bits with Tom Tom....you didn't growl at me once for taking the wrong turning....it was all Tom's fault for taking us into Wolverhampton....and of course, every other motorist for getting in your way..lol Well I betst get the next box unpacked, I want to play my keyboard before lunch.
