No matter who becomes president on Tuesday, America will go on and will bounce back. How can we not after the past depressing four years? I'm so ready for a change...

My personal concern are the children (our future) and the elderly (our foundation) in the United States who need food and shelter. Wouldn't it have been better to take the millions and millions of dollars spent these past months by our two candidates on advertising and buy hot meals and warm coats for those in need instead? Can you imagine if both candidates had done that instead of using that money to sling mud at each other???

Everyone thinks I'm crazy when I tell them I am at the exact middle of my life. But I'm not... I will be around to celebrate my 100th birthday which will be 08/11/2058 and what a party it will be. I hope the world will come celebrate with me!

My goals for the next 50 years are to publish at least 20 books, become a successful artist and have many, many beautiful, wonderful grandchildren who in turn will grow up to have many, many beautiful, wonderful great-grandchildren.

In preparation for the next half, I am attending college, striving for a degree in art. What fun it is to be going to school now that I am older and hopefully a little wiser. This time round, not only do I plan on obtaining a passing grade, my goal is to be an A student! So far, so good...

Remember, reach for your dreams and let no one deter you on your journey!

Yes, I know. It has been too long since I've updated this blog. I promise to do better in the future.

We no longer live on St. Croix, as in the Virgin Islands. What a great experience we had for a whole year! I miss all my wonderful friends and the beautiful blue, blue ocean and the sounds of the lapping waves that lulled me to sleep at night.

However, Chicago is the life! Never can complain about a dull moment here. Just hop a train into the heart of downtown and you will find something to love. Oh, and this is the cleanest city I've ever been to! No wonder Ophra loves it here.

News about me? Well, I'm a member of the Naperville Art League and participate in as many artist workshops as I can. This summer I took a Literature class at Joilet Junior College. It was awesome! In three weeks I will become a full-time student at the college, working toward a degree in Liberal Art. My ultimate goal is to become the best and most sought after illustrator in town. I will also be taking as many writing classes as I can find. Have to satisfy both "the artist side of me" and "the writer side of me"...

I am currently redoing the illustrations for a children's book that I wrote a couple of years ago. I had originally completed the drawings in watercolor pencil but have since that time discovered the vibrant colors of acrylics.

During the summer months while we were moving from the island to Chicago I took some time off from my novels. But I will be pulling out the works I am editing and also working on a new novel. It is an exciting time!
