Hey Folks,
BeLonG To is an organisation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) young people, aged between 14 and 23.
This Social group meet every sunday at Outhouse in Dublin. They've run workshops and presentations relating to LGBT youth issues. Their shiny new site
at http://www.belongto.org has a forum, news page and lots of info about how you can join a lgbt youth group. Their sunday youth group is very popular im told. They also have a group for transgender people called individuality, the only group of its kind in Europe. Their website contains all the information you need and has a great section on coming out that would useful to any gay teen.
Hope this may help any teens struggling with their sexuality in a small town. At least to know there is help out there may help.

gay friendly things to do in Kilkenny - a rough guide
so. not such a gay 'city'. But fear not, a duffers guide to surviving Kilkenny is here...
a) Find a bar that sell cocktails - automatic gay customers (sterotypes, moi?)
'' Cosmopolitan on the rocks, honey'' - snaps fingers in Tyra banks fashion. cos top model is so right now, and stuff. If your a 19 year old gay.
b) Find a bar with hot guys - automatic gay customers. ''do you come here often''
c) A bar with decent music and a cool crowd should be gay friendly in any town.
Kilkenny is no exception. Morrisons, Ormonde St, or The Playwright on kieran are pretty safe bets. Free in and decent DJ's.
Anna Conda for the more bohemian side of the 'city'. And if your after a lapdance (!)
d) The internet is your only man. Gaydar is a good way to seek out normal friends. once you get past those cock pictures that is. Gaydar is essential in the sticks. as is QueerID.com
e) There are several coffee shops during the day. Do a carrie bradshaw and cruise during the day. The tea rooms have the most wonderful cakes - no really. they do. Marble City Bar ice cream is to die for.
f) go to dublin or Waterford. Waterford has a gay bar and gay club.
Dignity Bar have recently opened and have DJ's and entertainment including camp pop, house and laid back sundays. mm. nice.
And if your still bored go walk in the castle park (ahem) or go shopping in one of Kilkennys lovely, yet quite limited shops. Or you could just cruise for sex in our spacious castle grounds. dog lead optional.
**The Left Bank is Kilkenny's newest snazzy pub. No one will stare if you order a cocktail. Well maybe just a tad. Go dressed up and the cheesey piped music and people watching will keep you entertained for hours. It's the closest thing to gay. As Katie Melua would have sung if she were a lesbian ****
