GIMP 2.4 is here!
After fixing bugs, and tweaking the newest GIMP program, 2.4 is ready to roll!
Its still free, so don't worry! With a new look, and feel to the old GIMP, however one thing is gone, the Freetype filter, not to worry though, GIMP is still as good as ever! Adobe has a run for their pride!
(P.S) This version supports PS brushes!

GIMP 2.3 18 Release!

GIMP 2.3.18 is a snapshot of current development towards GIMP 2.4. The source code can be downloaded from the usual places. This release not only fixes the bug that made 2.3.17 crash every so often, it also improves the quality of the zoomed out image view and provides better performance when working with large images. Check the NEWS file for an overview of the changes in this release...

Easy way to install brushes

download the file (photoshop brushes sometimes work (0 Replys 65 weeks
-right click, extract
-show files
-copy the files in the folder (if there is a folder
-then go to my computer
-local disk (:c)
-program files
-gimp
-share
-gimp
-whatever number it is (eg 2.4)
-brushes
-then paste the copied brushes into here
-open or re-open gimp and your brushes should be there!

When you install GIMP, you'll only have a small selection of Brushes to chose from, however, you can get some Brushes from DeviantART.com!0 Replys 113 weeks
Or you can type in "GIMP Brushes" in a search engine...
Whatever floats ya boat, lol
How to Install new brushes
1. You need a ZIP Reader, I Recommend PK ZIP Reader, or WINZIP
Google them to find the website.
2. Download the Brushes, Open the File(s)
3. No go to: Program Flies, GIMP 2.2,(Or any other.) Share, You should see the File name "Brushes" now put them into the File.
4 Refresh the Brushes window, Biggity Baggity Bong, you're done! -

HOW TO UPLOAD IMAGES OVER 40000 PIXELS!!!!!
okay a lot of ppl dont know is when u upload a skin it says must be E.e. 40000 pixels yours is 45001 pixels well make ur skin in gimp download phtoshop cs3 extended (go to youtube and type : how to get photoshop cs3 exteded free) and open ur image in photoshop then save it straight away then one saved this windows pops up saying stuff well by the right it says _____ pixels and u just need to alter it under 40000 pixels okay
This is how you make a GIF (flashing image)
1.Make a backgrund.
2.Decorate it.
3.Make a nw layer by going to LAYERS>NEW
4.Than draw again.
5.Each layer is one flash. Like if you have a picture of ashley tidsdale,then she rocks appears,ashley's pic is one layer and she rocks is another.

hey just wonderin but is there any way to make things flash on gimp?
and when i make a skin it pften looks like old and pixelated or something.is there any way i can fix that and if i put the quality up to 100 the file size is too big to upload to bebo!
