- We'll soon be recording a new series on Lionheart Radio called "Hear About" featuring the musical talent of the district. If you're an artist living within 30 miles of Alnwick we need to hear from you!
This isn't just about new bands; this is also about established bands, touring bands, solo artists; performers we haven't heard from in a while. And we're not just talking about rock and roll, we are looking for music in all it's forms. From traditional Northumbrian music right through to Hip Hop, Pop, Indie and even Jazz... well, maybe not Jazz.

Saturday 20th December 2008 11 - 16 year olds
- Lionheart Radio team on BBC Eggheads!
- As you will be well aware by now, Lionheart Radio had put together a team of "Eggheads" and travelled to London to take part in the show of the same name.
We can confirm that it will air on BBC 2 at 6pm on Tuesday 22nd April 2008. Watch it to see how we got on! - Carl Stiansen now on a Friday...
- Due to Carl Stiansen getting a brand new job in Durham (congrats) - he can no longer commit to broadcasting on Wednesdays and has therefore moved his slot to 1pm on Fridays.
You can expect all the usual chat, guests, interviews, music and gardening tips with Tom Pattinson. Carl is always on the look out for interesting people to interview - if that is you, get in touch! - More funding needed
- We are working on several grant applications with national funding bodies and hope to be able to secure the future of the station in the next few months. We need £62, 000 per year to keep the doors open and your help with fundraising ideas is always welcome.
- Our thanks to this months kind supporters...
- We are grateful to Alnwick Lions who have donated a fantastic £1500 to help provide improvements to our transmission system.
We were awarded £1500 from the High Sheriff of Northumberland's "Youth Against Crime" Fund for our work with the young people of Alnwick district.
Brian Burnie, the owner of Doxford Hall, donated £200 to the project and we look forward to hearing from him on air in the not too distant future!
Alnwick Town Council have indicated that it is considering a major grant to the project - more news to follow!
Northumberland Writers Group sadly disbanded last month and the committee's parting shot was to send a cheque for £130 to Lionheart to be used for writing related radio projects. - Lionheart Radio Listener Survey!

Loving the radio station...
Have you heard of Hedfone Party?
We provide Silent Disco entertainment to venues throughout the UK - and we're coming to Alnwick!
We usually operate in Nightclubs such as Tiger Tiger and Walkabout, but on Saturday 20th Decemember we are bringing out headsets and lighting rigs to the Willowburn Sports Centre for the start of a series of 11 - 16 year old events.
