- Me, Myself, and I
- GBA is a 5 piece unsigned metal act from the large town Ballymena. their primary influences are metalcore bands such as killswitchengage, 36crazyfists and bullet for my Valentine. Their material is all original and they describe their sound in being aggressive, sharpe, melodic and dynamic. from a lyrical point of view the words can be performed from a singing/screaming nature, very much loud but controlled. content involves angar and emotion in which it portrays realistic situations with added fantasy expressions. for example "Jacks work" is based around the notorious story of Jack the ripper.
GBA`s founding members are Mark Donnelly(vocalist) and Christopher French(guitarist) who started collaborating songs together in 2006. Christophers brother Lawrence French was introduced as bassist who adds a strong performing element to the line up. Stephen Black(guitarist) joined in 2007 adding intricate guitar sounds to the set. After months of backtracking and delayed performances finding the 5th member seemed impossible after trials with 4 different drummers. Arran Stephens was the one who showed unbelievable talent and commitment to then join as the 5th member in August 2008. after only a matter of weeks of practicing they played their first gig at the Pavillion Bar, Belfast with a positive response from the crowd and that was just the start. Since playing at venues such as; The Bush Tavern Ballymoney; Ceili House, Lurgan; Lavery's Addic, Belfast; Retro Bar, Portrush; and liggars ball 2008, kellys portrush a sound local fan base with enthusiastic followers has been established
GBA's debut EP titled "Under The Badness" was recorded at Electrichead Studios, Ballymoney by Darren Hutton and will be launched on 28th March at the Slemish bar in Ballymena. the 5 tracks that were selected were Under the badness, Without the Tears, Jacks Work, Maniquin Lover and as yours. The EP has been formally aired by local radio station "FUSE FM". Their primary goal for 2009 is to play as many venues as possible, across the UK and Ireland to promote their EP and increase their evergrowing fan base. New material is currently being composed and it is hopeful they will release their 2nd EP in the latter part of this year.
