Ninjutsu techniques are the secrecy and skill techniques of a ninja. Ninjutsu techniques normally require hand seals of some form.

Daitoppa - Great Breakthrough

Fuuton • Daitoppa is a Ninjutsu technique which utilizes the Wind Element. After bringing his hand to his mouth, Orochimaru will blow a large blast of wind capable of leveling almost anything in its way. A variation of the technique involves a smaller blast of wind which gets ignited with flame.

Kanashibari no Jutsu is an advanced Ninjutsu technique used to temporarily bind an individual or animal. With the person frozen in place, the ninja can either take the opportunity to attack or to retreat.

The ninja normally signs a blood contract with the animal species, which allows him to summon different size and skill levels of creature. Kusanagi no Tsurugi • Kuu no Tachi is a Ninjutsu technique used by Orochimaru. This technique allows Orochimaru to levitate his sword Kusanagi. Forming the needed hand seal will cause the sword to activate and strike out against any enemy in the nearby area.

Nan Kaizou is a Ninjutsu technique that allows a ninja to make their body very malleable. It was originally developed for spying activities. This technique can be done after surgery and actual body modification. When used the ninja can stretch and twist their body at any angle, allowing them to surprise their opponent.

This unnamed technique allows Orochimaru to experience a near total rebirth of his physical form at the cost of a large amount of chakra. Should a significant portion of his body be damaged in battle, he can emerge from his mouth and cast off the skin of his former body. This new body will not bear the damage of the previous incarnation; however over-use of this technique will greatly weaken him.

This jutsu can also be used as a form of Kawarimi, allowing Orochimaru to avoid an attack by leaving his previous skin behind. This approach was used by Uchiha Sasuke after he absorbed Orochimaru. Sasuke emerged from the chest of his cast off body after being hit by Amaterasu.

Sanjuu Rashoumon - Triple Rashoumon

Sanjuu Rashoumon is a Ninjutsu summoning technique utilized by Orochimaru. One Rashoumon gate alone was said to be his ultimate defense, with this variation he can summon three of the gates in succession to help block a great incoming blast. Because the gate requires two summoning calls (a right and left), he will bite both his right and left thumbs to initiate the contract.

This subcategory is not one of the main skill arts. Kinjutsu or "Banned techniques" are those jutsu from the three main categories which have been declared forbidden by the village Kage. This can be because of the toll it places on the ninja, or the evil nature of the technique used.

Kuchiyose • Edo Tensei is a Ninjutsu technique which had been forbidden because of its dark nature. The technique involves the summoning of dead souls from the afterlife back into the real world. Normally Kuchiyose (summoning) involves the use of the caster's blood as compensation for summoning, Edo Tensei is different though. The ninja will first sacrifice a living person to provide the vessel that the dead soul will inhabit. The dead body will then be incased in ash and dirt to resemble the soul of the person that was resurrected. When the ninja wishes to recall the souls, a portal will open in the ground and the caskets holding the bodies will appear. When the caskets open the bodies will be grey and in a state of minor decay. At this point the dead souls are able to remember their past life, but they are at the command of the one who summoned them. One final act will fully wipe out their conscious and make them under the command of the one who summoned them. The ninja will place a fuda (charm/tag) of some form into the head of the body. This will then give vitality back to the body and make it a pure killing machine.

When a portion of the dead body is damaged, the ash and dust will merely return and fix the damaged body part. The only way currently known to stop the resurrected person, is to utilize the Shiki Fuujin technique and remove the soul from the body.

Fushi Tensei - Living Corpse Reincarnation

Fushi Tensei was a specially developed Ninjutsu technique developed by Orochimaru. The technique prevents death by allowing the caster to leave his body and inhabit the body of another. This allows one to remain in the world forever as they are not restrained by the age limits placed on ones physical body. When Orochimaru takes over the body the original individual is not totally wiped out, a small piece of them remains behind to become a part of Orochimaru's subconscious. Orochimaru wished to use this technique to take over the body of an Uchiha clan member, this would allow him greater ability to fulfill his goal of learning all the jutsu of the world. When Orochimaru switches bodies, he is forced to inhabit that body for a period of years before he will be able to use the technique again.

Kuchiyose no Jutsu - Summonings
A powerful jutsu, Ninpo Kuchiyose allows a ninja to summon animals, objects and the dead to fight on their behalf. The ninja normally signs a blood contract with the animal species, which allows them to summon different size and skill levels of creature. The ability to summon more advanced animals largely depends upon the amount of chakra the ninja can muster to perform the jutsu. To summon the creature the ninja will wipe blood on the hand, perform the necessary handseals and then touch their hand to the ground or another object. Though it appears that as long as significant pressure is placed against the blood in some form, the summon will be complete. There can be variations to the summoning steps, some ninja like Temari will wipe blood on her fan, then by swinging the fan the animal is summoned. Other ninja like Orochimaru wipe the blood across a snake tattoo on their arm first, then touch the ground.

The forbidden jutsu Edo Tensei was used by Orochimaru in an apparent attempt to bring back the soul of the Fourth Hokage into a sacrificed body. This failed due to the actions of the Third Hokage, who was able to prevent the summon from completing.

The sealed gate Rashoumon can serve as a barrier when needed by Orochimaru. The Sound-Nin brothers Sakon and Ukon must both initiate the summoning at the same time to bring forth the gate. Orochimaru himself can summon three of these gates by drawing blood on both his right and left thumbs.
