- Runaway Helpline is a 24 hour confidential helpline for runaways operated by the charity Missing People, offering help and advice to young people who have run away from home or care, or who have been forced to leave home. Runaway Helpline offers a Freefone number (0808 800 70 70), an email service (runaway@missingpeople.org.uk
) and a text service (text 80234). If appropriate, Runaway Helpline can help young people to contact their family or carer or a relevant support agency, such as social services or a young person’s project, or help them to find a place of safety. Young people run away from home or care for many reasons and they are often scared and in dangerous situations. Runaway Helpline offers non-judgemental support and the time and space to explore the options with a young person. Runaway Helpline can contact family or carers via a message or a three-way call which can open the lines of communication and enable a young person to return home, if it is safe to do so.

Irish girl Amy Fitzpatrick went missing on the evening of New Years Day 1st January 2008 at approximately 10pm when she left her friends’ house in the tourist resort of Riviera Del Sol on the Costa Del Sol to take the 10 minute walk to her house.
Amy was 15 at the time of disappearance she has black hair, is 1.65m tall. Amy is originally from Clarehall in Dublin and moved to the Costa Del Sol with her Mum her Brother Dean and Audrey's Partner Dave four years ago.
