- Young Labour is the youth wing of the Labour Party in New Zealand. Everyone who joins the Labour party under the age of 26 is entitled to attend and vote at our Conferences and other national and regional meetings. We have branches and regional groupings throughout New Zealand that get together regularly.
We are united by the principles we share, a social democratic outlook on the world, and stand by a conviction that Labour governments are better than the rest. Young Labour has a growing influence within the party as a whole, and is more active now than at any time since its beginnings in 1970s, when the current party leader was in the organization.

Hi guys,

Could someone tell me why on earth Labour and the Greens are both putting massive resources behind their candidates in the Mt. Albert by-election? This is crazy, in the last election if the Greens had put their support in for 7 electorates and labour in for Russel Normans original seat there would be 8 more, yes 8 more electoral seats in the left's hands(Although this would not have changed the election due to the way MMP works in share of the party vote, it would in turn leave both these parties a firm local base in these elecotrates which would have been very benefital in 2011. Yet both parties seem to be content in letting another elecotrate fall to National! Alhtough I am a green support if you live in Mt. Albert I plead that you please give your vote to David Shearer even if you are a Green supporter I do not want to see Mr. Key's smug face on the television on polling day!
Interesting Alex
Rise, I think you should comment on the young nats page they seriously need some mental health awareness, nah jj good course will join.I too agree that Phil Goff has done a great job in leadership, however I still cannot ignore his centralist beliefs and support the reforms of the lange government- neccassary after National's failures, but they did not have to go to the extent they did, hence why I support Helen Clark for opposing them. Because of this next election I will be supporting the Green party over Labour and encourage others in the left-wing of the party to do the same. I still pla to give my electorate vote to labour and wish them all the best. However if the greens get enough support in 2011, they will definently support a labour government and bring them back to the left. Any one that agrees with me should jointhe teen greens: http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?Memb.... To spite this I look foward to Phil GOff being our next PM in 2011!

Is anyone else proud of our opposition leader Phill Goff and utterly appalled at John Key's lack of performance lately?
It appears that all he seems to be doing is attending forum after forum, meeting after meeting and since when did meetings and forums solve the problems of a Recession and Economic uncertainty?
Since when were meetings and forums first priority to what voters were expecting a 100 day ACTION PLAN!
How the hell is attending meetings part of the agenda on National's 100day action plan?
Oh, I guess there is some credit due for John Key.
Well done Mr Key for supporting Helen Clark's application to the UN - I wish Helen all the best for this position because I believe she is one of few NZ politicians with a life long devotion to politics, an enriched reputation of education and a sense of accomplishment in being Labour's longest serving Prime Minister!
Well done Hon Helen Elizabeth Clark
One of the greatest left-wing assets
Is there anything happening for us young people who are staunch labour supports in Hamilton?????
Almost as entertaining as winston's concession speech, when he LOST lol.
Comments like that seem to the most part to be against a brick wall, National will never change, there is only really one actual debator on any national sites who can actually come up with facts properly showing how pathetic national supporters are.
Thanks for all your contributions Luc and Misty! Not only on this page but all others involing politics! It helps remind national who the NZ public voted for in the last 3 out of 4 elections, which will soon(hopefully) become 4 out of 5.
I cannot understand why the Young Nats only seem to be able to swear at Young Labour members, and tell Young Labour to get f@#ked, and that they are better than Young Labour.
We live in a country that is democratic, and New Zealanders should all have equal rights. By the Young Nats doing what they are doing, they are simply showing a high level of immaturity. Not only that but they are arguing that being a National Party Supporter makes you "better" than a supporter of the Labour Party.
The Young Nats need to remember that just as easily as Labour was voted out of power, National can too be voted out. They are not immune from the same fate the Helen Clark government had. The Young Nats need to remember that, in the words of the Rt. Hon. Helen Clark, "we won't be going away".
Also in the words of Prime Minister John Key "New Zealand is better situated than most contries to come out stronger from the recession" <- National can't have caused that already can they?
They annoy me too. But who has more members? We do!!
Oh gawd. That new 90 day probation law is sucks for the employee. Thankfully Labour opposes it.
Um
Why dont you fuck off this page aiight dick.
Admit it - your leader is a smarmy prick. helen clark has more balls than him.
Love you hardout Labour.
Will be cheering you on for sure in 2011 cause I know you're gonna get there.
Go labour!!!
I agree, Alex.
