I just thought id share a story that a guest preacher brought out tonight in his sermon...maybe it will help someone, somehow!

Tonight preacher Ross told us a story of his brother tht has really stuck with me & encouraged me to not give up on the lost!

This true story went like this....

Preacher Ross has an older step brother whos real father, when he was a young boy left him & his Mom. His Mom then got remarried a couple years later & had 3 other boys((one of those being preacher Ross)). As his step brother got older he grew to HATE his real Dad & would constantly talk of how he disliked him & tht his step Dad was his real Dad. ((His real Dad was an awful person...as far as he was someone who had completely abandoned his wife & child & then became a really bad alcoholic & Tim couldnt stand him for that.)) As Tim got older though he became everything that he hated so much about his Dad! He became a far worse drunk than his dad & he also left his wife & kids.

The next time he saw his brother was years later at Christmas. He said that his step brother was so drunk he almost fell through the door...& when he finally got inside the house he startn yelln to Bro. Ross "Look what i got fro Christmas!"....((waving a whiskey bottle at him))....Bro. Ross then waved his Bible in the air saying, "Well, look what i got for Christmas!"

After that he didnt see his step brother until 12 years later at his Mother's funeral. Two of the brothers spoke & Bro. Ross gave the message. At the end there was an alter call & as Bro. Ross stood there he told his step brother, "You know Momma's life was all she wanted but the one thing she didnt want was for only 3 of her sons to make it to heaven...she wanted all 4!"...Tim & his 2nd or 3rd wife left the funeral before his Mother was even done being lowered into the ground!Days later he wrote Bro. Ross a really nasty letter...but Bro. Ross held onto it to remind him to pray for him!

Then 14 years later Bro. Ross was asked to come speak in Cananda & even tho it was the wrong timing & he really didnt feel like it, he planned on going anyway. The day before he left, he recieved a postcard in the mail from an odd address. As he opend he saw a picture of a cross on a hill with his step brothers writing saying...."Bob, the old cross fell down so they got another one."....Bro. Ross jst figured he thought of them & tht cross cuz they were christians. He never really thought anything else about it.

As he got to Canada the man that asked him to come, wanted to take him up this big mountain to see these lights that were at the top. Bro. Ross kept sayn, "I dont wanna go up there, ive seen lights before...ive been to Chicago, New York, etc...I know what lights look like!" The man kept pushn & pushn & finally he agreed to climb up this big mountain.

As he was telling this story we all started to laugh a little as he described to us how he was in a suit & tie climbing up this rough mountain & as he was goin up he was tripping on just about every rock & branch...though the other guy wasnt because he knew the mountain pretty well! As he finally reached the top he said he lookd as though he had been rolling around in the dirt or something!lol

As the two men were standing there, the man startd to tell Bro. Ross about a ceratin lake & area...as he was telln him the name Bro. Ross realized that the name sounded familiar! He quickly said, "What did u jst say?!" The man repeated it. Bro. Ross suddenly realized that was the name of the place his step brothers letter/card was mailed from. "Do you know someone from there?" the man asked Bro Ross. "Actaully i do, i have an unsaved step brother who lives there!" "Well thats only two hours away from us!""Lets call him & go see him, right now!" said the man. "No we cant call, he wont be there then!" So the two men left left to see Tim.

When they got to the house a women came out & told them that he had just left. Bro. Ross startd to worry, b

Hey everyone!

Ive been reading everyone's opinions & comments on the polls & it seems to be causing too much strife in between people!

Ive read statements about certain polls not being apart of holiness but, really it is & as someone else said these are things that we as "holiness people" do deal with. Things such as sleeves, watches, ect. are NOT wht gets a peron to heaven but they are all things that we decide on as a christain(whether or not to wear or do them).

You may say its all by conviction, but also sometimes one person may find or see something in the Bible that someone else hasnt...& by maybe sharing that, it might help someone else see it more clearly.

I do NOT by no means put any poll up to cause strife or hurt! We are all suppose to be christians but some get too upset over lil things such as a poll...when really its not put up to cause arguments, but to help others who may be struggling on a decision.
