- Lewis Hamilton is a British Formula One driver. He drives for the McLaren Mercedes team. His debut this year has been exceptional so far, including a number of entries in the record books.
At Bahrain, he became the first F1 driver to finish in the top 3 in his first 3 F1 championship races, a record he has then extended to his first 7 races. Finishing second in Spain made Hamilton the youngest driver ever to lead the drivers' championship. By winning a Grand Prix at his sixth attempt in Canada, Hamilton became the fourth youngest Grand Prix winner.
With Hamilton's success in America, he became the fourth most successful F1 driver in terms of wins in a first season. It also marked the first time in F1 history that a rookie driver took 2 consecutive poles and race victories.
What Lewis has to say: "It's a dream come true, to be racing in F1… the team has told me just to relax, do the best I can and enjoy the opportunity. I will work hard to get good results."
