...you now have one!
about four months ago there was a meeting where a bunch of us decided (with the help of some rad adults in high places) to estabilsh a "Youth Council" which would provide a voice from
us young people in Christchurch to advise on things that matter to us... yes (most likely if your young enough to know how to work bebo) than thats you!
after some planning sessions and some really long meetings... and free food, we are left with a group of 21 youth (12-24years old) that are either attending school, working or university (and a great bunch of mentoring adults from Youth Line, CCC, Department of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Youth Development and NZHAAD) who are now the Youth Council!
we've had a few meetings and we have sooo many great ideas and plans...
message us if you want to get involved as there will be heaps of work to do making Chch a better place for US!

I am looking for 3-4 people aged 16-26 who play world of warcraft or other massive multiplayer online games... to interview for my masters. Its really low key.. and inreturn you would get a voucher or something for your time.

We are becoming aware of an increasing number of international students who are being subjected to racist attacks/taunts on the streets.
Some agencies have began talking about a possible 'poster campaign' communicating the message that 'Racism is not cool'. They want to invite some key role models to be faces on these posters.
The racism seems to be coming from 'boy racers', other young people meeting about town, and also an older group of Christchurch's citizens.
What they need to know is who positive role models are that you think would have a wide appeal to Christhurch, particularly youth.
They said rugby players are an obvious choice but they also want some woman role models and are open to role models that aren't necessarily sports people.
Please give some suggestions. -

Just a reminder of the Hikoi/March this weekend from the Casino to the square to raise awareness about gamble free day - and that problem gambling does indeed effect our families and our communities.
We are hoping for a couple of hundred people - please let me know if you plan on coming, and bring as many friends as you can.
Its not a protest, its just a walk holding signs and banners to raise awareness. There will be kids in pushchairs, people in wheelchairs and elderly people with their zimmer frames - its about everyone coming together to say lets have one day of no gambling and save ourselves $$5.5million just for one day!!!

Guy's, all you need to do is log in to the google group and it's got all the information there, it's not hard.
The next meeting is on Tuesday at CCC, check the google group for more information.
I havnt been getitng YC emails for over a month.
