This is a poem that a lady named Moya Muldowney wrote for a truly special person named Asa. She was a very sweet swedish lady who rescued irish dogs from pounds, and rehomed them in sweden. Sadly she died at the end of June, She was only 29.
It has been so heartbreaking for all that knew her. This is the poem wrote for her.

t happened near the last day of June
In the year 2008.
That chaos struck at Rainbow Bridge
When thousands galloped to the gate.

Their tails all wagged so fast and free,
In width and breadth, they filled the street,
And all the eyes sought anxiously
For the human they were there to meet.

Though most in build resembled a Hound,
Size ranged from big to small,
And in this breathless atmosphere,
They waited for her call.

Impatient whimpers then broke out,
From the puppies near the fore,
Who whined their longing for her face,
And then their hearts began to soar.

All at once each seeking eye
Saw walking down the snow white aisle,
A figure so familiar to them all,
That their long wait became worthwhile.

But as she drew close, a hush fell down,
And every canine bowed,
For on her back, she wore two wings
And oh, they looked so proud!

The gates swung outwards, slick and smooth,
And the girl crouched to her knees,
Opening her arms as wide as she could,
To all her previous rescuees.

There was not a dry eye among the crowd,
Who raced at once to her side,
With wagging tails, and joyful barks,
They accompanied her inside.

For she was Asa, known to them,
As their saviour upon the earth,
And now she was returned to them,
Having already proved her worth.

Back down here, the tears flowed free,
And so many people did mourn,
To hear of her passing so suddenly,
Hundreds of hearts were torn.

But all at once, each ear did cock,
To the noise heard from the skies
The joyful barks, fell on the breeze,
And tears were wiped from eyes.

For now all knew, she had gone home,
To the Bridge upon the Rainbow.
Reunited now, with those she'd saved,
And her loved ones could let their pain go.

Her love, and care for all canines
Were an example to each and every one
For Asa is an angel now
That her work on earth is done.

In memory of Asa aka Padangel

Patting his head, he turned to me, a heavy frown furrowing his brow.
And spoke so low I barely heard him say, “You know it’s up to you now.”

The very words I’d dreaded yet hadn’t considered what I’d do.
“I’ve done my best, all that I can – now the rest is up to you.”

I clutched onto the table as the room momentarily went black.
Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, and I struggled to hold them back.

While he lay on that rocky table, I gazed into his eyes.
And saw the pain hidden deep within – more than I’d realised.

Unfocused though the brown eyes were, they pierced my soul down low.
I felt the limp body telling me, “I really need to go.”

I swallowed over the lump in my throat as I spoke in a choking voice.
“I give you my permission … I really have no choice.”

Then bent down to his level and gathered his close to me,
While the tears ran rampant from my eyes until I could not see.

I felt him lift his paw up as the needle was inserted,
And then his life flowed smoothly out, and my bravery deserted.

Some people cannot understand how heartbreaking this time was.
That for so many tears and sleepless nights, a lowly dog was the cause.

You simply cannot comprehend how this event could make one weep.

“You may put

To sleep…”
