AN INCREDIBLE DREAM

One day, I dreamt an incredible dream that I was a mercenary sniper. I think it would be a nice adventure story to hear. Now I will describe how I dreamt it.

Fist of all, I was living with an old man who used to be a British soldier during the British colonial period in Burma. We lived in the deep forest. He was very talented in shooting and hunting animals for meals. Every day he taught me how to hunt and survive in the jungle. We were very happy and our live were full with peace. He face looked cruel, but he was a really nice man.

One day, unexpectedly one group of soldiers of about 20 people got lost and came to our tent. They asked for food and drinks. We served them and they thanked us for hospitality. Then I didn’t know why the leader of the soldiers liked me and he forced me to follow him as a follower. I tried to refuse, but I couldn’t do anything they threatened me with weapons. Later I had to agree to go with them.

In addition, my life was totally changed when I arrived in their camp. Every body was friendly and very obedient to their commander. At first they pursued me to be one of his members. Furthermore, they had changed my life from hunting animals to killing people. One of the worst things I faced, they forced me to kill the prisoners of war. I felt really shocked and frightened. However, I had no alternative way. I had to do what they wanted me to do.

They trained me how to shoot a gun and how to fight in the battle- field. Later, they realized and knew that I was really talented in gun shooting from far distance and they called me "sniper" it was the first metaphor in my life.
Then, a hard and challenging adventure had come in to my life. All the soldiers were planning to seize the enemy fort and I didn’t know where the location was.

They gave me a map and position to watch and control the target. It was a really important task to do. They bet me that if I had achieved my tasks I would be awarded. After making the plan we started to move and surround the military fort. It was about mid-night when everything was quiet. In the sky there were a lot of the stars to see.

Finally, the fighting started when near daybreak both sides of the soldiers were trying to control the situation and shooting guns and missiles at one another. The beautiful dawn turned to cover with smoke in the sky. I fired my gun at the target I could see clearly, I had shot and killed many defensive soldiers, but I didn’t see the main target shooter who was shooting at us from another direction. I had seen our soldiers who tried to enter the military control area get shot and fell down.

Suddenly, I found out that there was a beautiful lady with an army uniform and equipment. My heart was frozen for a moment; I had never imagined that such a beautiful lady would be a soldier. It was really hard to decide whether to shoot her or not. While, I was thinking this, one or two more of our soldiers were shot. Eventually, I decided if I didn’t kill her the fighting would never end. Therefore, I fired my gun at her head triggered and boomed she fell down.

Afterward, a few minutes later, we occupied the fort. Everybody felt happy and shouted, sang songs and praised me for the success. However, I felt really sad when I saw the view of buildings burning and the dead bodies lying on the ground. Especially the lady who I had killed her I went closer to her and looked at her face. She was dead with open eyes.

I tried to close her eyes and my thoughts came me out, “Why are we human beings killing one another”. I was startled and woke up. I glanced at my watch and it was midnight. After that, I couldn’t sleep till daybreak. I felt really regretful for the lady who I had killed.
