Did you hear about “Wee Alan”, a really decent lad.
The tale I’m about to tell you is very, very sad.
Alan sets off on a Friday, to sail the Irish Main,
He wants to watch a football match, and travel home again,
He doesn’t mind the weather, be rain or hail or snow,
As long as he gets to Goodison, to see Everton put on a show.

Just before the kick off, in the stand he takes his seat
He’s always on the look out for Stars he’d like to meet
And with him is his camera, it’s always at his side
Taking snaps of everyone, then showing them with pride
He can tell you facts and figures, and stories of yesterday
Then settles down to watch the game as “Z” Cars starts to play.

But this is when the problem starts, it really is a scream
For Alan he can’t stay awake, he’s elsewhere in a dream
While all the crowd around the ground, are up and on their toes
Our Alan sits there in his seat, having his wee doze
Never mind about the singing, or even the Goodison roar
All you hear is Oakesy, and this bloody great big snore.

So now you know the story, alas it’s sad but true
Wee Alan sleeping at the match, dressed in royal blue
He has now become quite famous, with his picture on the web
He’ll be recognized everywhere, as an Everton Celeb
So if you see our Alan, and his company you want to keep
Please don’t nudge him in the side, just let the “Wee Man” sleep.
