Yes, I am now working in a supermarket.

On the audit team so I am shut away on my own in an office for 70% of the time. But this suits me.

There are lots of interruptions (phone, other workers) but I can cope with this as I organise my work so that I can pick it up again quickly after the interruption.

At the healthfood store I have been taught all the book keeping so I manage this for them on the two days a week I work for them. This is good because the owners can focus on other apects of the business, such as stock ordering and publicity, and, as a result, business is booming despite (or probably because of), the credit crunch. (When times are bad, hoardes of customers come through the doors seeking alternative remedies) Hooray!

I had flu and couldn't make it to the interview for the job in the council working on the street map database.

But it does not matter because my job at the alternative health clinic is improving; the boss has noticed that I have good computer skills and he has assigned me to his Sage accountancy work, updating invoices on the Bought Ledger and posting till receipts and so on. To anyone that does not do accountancy this will sound as dry as dust, but for some reason the logical aspect of the work is right up my street.

I was recently assigned the task of reconciling the sage accountancy work to the actual bank statements and, strangely enough, I really enjoyed this. It is like doing an elaborate "Sudoko" and being paid for it, too.

So life is not all bad.

For those who know the WEASEL, well I am off to visit him and a few friends in London from Friday 8th Feb 2008 to Monday 11th Feb 2008.

Whilst I am keen to see said WEASEL again, I am a bit nervous of London. London is not an ideal place to go to if you have Aspergers, too much going on and danger of sensory overload.

Yes, I have been called for interview to work in a Council Office on their database of roads and streets. This looks good; but hope I will be able to get support in the first few months to help me settle in.

Will decide whether or not to accept the offer (if I get one) after I have seen what the office is like (is it noisy, confusing, has an unpleasant smell, people-friendly and so forth).

Enjoying the work at the Alternative Therapy / Health Food Centre; I would not want to give this up for the Council Job. Will have to think carefully about this one.

Meanwhile I gained a distinction in the Sage Accountancy Course and am now taking a an ITQ to add to my list.
