meath tourism says says::
According to a poll taken by Newstalk 106 Fm the quaint Meath village was voted the friendliest place in Ireland. Over the month of February, listeners of the radio station were asked to nominate places in Ireland. This was then shortlisted to 5 places .The radio station took to the street to talk to people from each area.

From Duleek, the reporters talked to Caroline Kelly( kelly's pub), Michael Duignan (manager local supermarket) and Tom Maher (local pharmacy). Then local legend Joe Rooney rapped a song about his native village. His comic genius never fails with lines from the song including "From the bottom of the gutter to the top of the steeple, Duleek is full of the friendliest people". The voting made Duleek clear winners with 38% of the vote

      ONLY ONE!!!! And do you know WHY? because no one else in this f…n house knows HOW to change a f….n light bulb! They don't even know that the f….n bulb is BURNED OUT!! They would sit in the dark for THREE fu..'n DAYS before they figured it out.
      And, once they figured it out, they wouldn't be able to find the god damned light bulbs despite the fact that they've been in the SAME CABINET for the past 17 YEARS!

      But if they did, by some miracle of God,

      actually find them, 2 DAYS LATER, the fu..'n chair they dragged to stand on to change the STUPID light bulb would

      STILL BE IN THE SAME fu..'n SPOT!!!!! AND UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE WRAPPER THE FREAKING LIGHT BULBS CAME IN!!! BECAUSE NO F…ER EVER PICKS UP OR CARRIES

      OUT THE GARBAGE!!!! IT'S A WONDER WE HAVEN'T ALL SUFFOCATED

      , lets all rally around the drogs and attend a game or two before the season finishes up
      we all need to do our bit to keep try get domestic soccer back in the saddle before we lose the infrastructure to create and promote new talents,
      and lets all get onto meath county council to explain why they dragged their feet in coming to a negative decsion in refusing the drogs a new stadium which would have put duleek on the map as the home of sport in the north east.

      A Message From The Chairman

      All supporters will have heard of the problems that have arisen in the club and we are faced with a very difficult situation. However, we are going to take all necessary steps to ensure that Drogheda United FC survives.




      We will be calling a press conference next week to explain the full background to how matters have reached this stage. I am overwhelmed by the tremendous response from all sides, and the many offers of help and support. Together we will succeed and we will take every possible step to ensure that.




      I ask all supporters to rally around the team tonight and on Monday and for the balance of the season.
