THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF MY STAY IN OZ!! August 2008

I have been in big ol' Australia now for 13 months.

I am now managing an electronic Game shop which is a heap of fun! Just got back from a work conference in Sydney (see photos I've just added), had an amazing time!

    • New Job, New House - 9th May 2008

      Well hello everybody, its that time again....i now have a new job, Assistant Manager of a gaming store called (funnily enough) 'Game'. I am currently doing my training at Westfield Innaloo in Perth but will relocate to the Karrinyup Mall in 2 weeks for the opening of that store which apparently is going to be MEGA, all very exciting :)

      I also have FINALLY moved out of backpacker accommodation to live in a three bed house in a suburb called Embleton, don't miss my friends at Sunset Coast backpackers as I still catch up with them on weekends, so ALLLLL gravy :D
      I live with Vanessa (whom most of you will know) and my other flatmate Nathan who is an Aussie. We are all very lucky to have a large swimming pool but is unfortunately empty at present due to filter problems. We live on a very quiet street opposite a golf course and a 10 minute walk from a BIG shopping mall in Morley called Centro Galleria.

    • LIZARDS, REDBACKS and ALL THINGS DANGEROUS!

      Well, update time........

      I am currently reading meters for Western Power.

      Very hard work in hot weather. Almost all the meter boxes have giant redback spiders (poisonous) running around in them, I have many photos on my phone, its a matter of time before one gets me!!!

      Today 2 lizards fell out of meter boxes on me! EEEEKKKK, my heart actually stopped for 5 seconds. They're so ummm, peery with their little beady eyes! They just sat on the ground staring at me, I'll be dreaming about them tonight!

      The lady who trained me saw a snake in a meter box a few weeks before she meet me, so I'm dreading that day!!

      At the moment I have two swollen arms due to bites, not sure what from but whatever it is got me at night.....almost like a bee sting but the bite holes are almost invisible...they must be tiny!!!

      Wow, I'm still buzzing saw my favourite band perform on Monday at Soundwaves, it was amazing definately the biggest and best concert I have ever been to FOR SURE! There were about 50 other bands playing there all heavy rock/metal, my friend I went with (Steve - aussie) videoed the entire WISH YOU WERE HERE song - YUUUUUSSSSS!!!!! and took photos YAY!!

      One year, dam where does the time go aye.
      Lol yea mate im still alive, jus. Whats been happenin in CHCH? not alot dude, rugby seasons finished up. we lost our semi final 2 Suburbs Samoa so that was a bit of a downer. got forward of the year 4 our team so that was cool. and jus finished payin all my bills off so im some what debt free yay. So its time 2 start saving although with the shit weather we've been havin and the lack of work around at the moment hasn't been goin 2 well. I've only been workin on av 3days a week. things should come right soon tho, i hope. moved flat again maybe twice since i last talked 2 ya, both still in Bel air. Quite a party pad wit a couple a mates so lookin 4ward 2 a rowdy summer :) getin a bit warmer bought a new surfboard off a mate so might go out 4 a paddle with my flatmate this weekend. Yay the weekend has landed might go grab a beer.
