Hmmm, I'm never one NOT to comment Born and bred in the mighty Waikato - Narras! Met my husband Gig (Giggalicious) Abraham when he was in the Navy and life just got better from that moment on. We have beautiful twin daughters - Aaliyah Jai Te Atatu and Jayden Shane Te Rangi. Married Gig at Turangawaewae Marae in front of Mahinerangi - the same place my parents and my grandparents were married which was awesome!!!! Moved back to Narras ...... and now living in Hamilton. Still miss the natives back home though. .....
NETBALL is all back on AGAIN!! So it's busy busy busy ... In fact Friday's & Sundays are my only night off .... Coaching club's top junior team & Year 9 team too. Hmmm, Matarangi sounds wonderful!!!!

Day 5, 6 & 7 in Adelaide
Day 5 - Barossa Valley Wine Tour ..... and it was amazing. Started the morning with breakfast at the Sebel Hotel with a Bacon & Egg Turkesh bread ...... then picked up at 8.45 am by Craig ... the tour guide. Not quite as good as the first guide for the McLaren Vale tour -Kevin, plus he wouldn't shut the fu3k up!!!!! We had two other people on our tour with us ..... the kiwi irish nurse and doc ... the kiwi guy ...... LOL! First stop ... PENFOLDS ..... and it was the sh1t!!!! Started with the penfold blend where we got to taste the 2007 BIN 138 and had to try to re-create it ..... using their 2008 Shiraz, Grenache & Mouvedre. After three attempts we got to bottle our blend .... which my bottle was named "Aaliyah Abraham" with a blend of SGM ... and I must say .... mine taste sooooo much better than the 2007 BIN 138 .... it was truly liquid gold. After that we went downstairs to try the tasting of the Penfold range and I must say I was truly in heaven ..... hmmmmm, nothing I tasted was horrible, but I was very surprised when they brought out their white wines and tawny ports ............... and their $650 bottles ... which were just devine .... and tasted like velvet ...... do you get the theme that I was just in heaven at Penfolds ... LOL! We left the vineyard with a few purchases .... the tawny port and a apron ..... LOL! Then onto Saltram Vineyard for a degustation lunch ..... aaaawwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhh......... a 4 course meal ........ with matching wines ..... and a kiwifruit sobet..... just devine. Onto Wolf Blass, which I must say I wasnt that impressed with it myself .... a bit tooooo corporate for my liking and I didn't purchase anything at this vineyard and then onto the Sepplesfield. Fortified stuff especially port .... and it was just lovely ... the tastings anyway but the guide was the wicked witch from the west who really didn't want to give us a tour, but thought she better cause she's employed by some big company that doesn't give a sh1t about her ..... fair to say ..... she was the monster of the monsters when it comes to tour guides ... so gig decided to taste the 100 year port that wasn't supposed to be touched .... LMAO!!!! Got home about 6 pm and we all decided to take a walk up the road to the Straithmore Hotel ........... to have thes stonegrill ......and it was beautiful .... all over a nice bottle of Jim Barry Shiraz ....... then home where the boys enjoyed feijoa vodka .... while the girls turned in for the night ..... and the boys started playing up I must say. All and all, it was an awesome day .... fun had by all ........ and has to be the best day of the trip so far.....just awesome!!!!
Day 6 - Woke up about 3.30 am ... with Gig tossing and turning ...... and then at 8 am I properly woke with Bung and Ness saying their going to have breakfast down the road. By this time, Gig was in the shower and when it was my turn, I decided to check on him, only to find him back in bed needing to have another sleep!!! LMAO!!!! Its fair to say that he drank a bit tooooo much vodka the night before .... and was feeling the effects. I showered .... they went to breakfast and did shopping while I chilled out and waited for Gig to wake up.... LOL! He awoke at 11.30 am and we meet for lunch at Chopsticks and Cocolate for lunch ... HMmmmmmm, really nice. Back to the apartment to chill then to the spa to relax .... then the boys went out to get pizza and chinese for dinner.....fair to say a very relaxing day to recover. LOL!
Day 7 - Awoke at 5 am, reading my book until 7.30 am .... showered and then headed for breakfast at the Sebel .... then to Rundells Mall for some shopping then to Harbourtown for more shopping ......home quickly to pick up some packaging for all the wine we have to take home ..... and then dressed up a little to head to North Adelaide for drinks and dinner. Hmmmmmmm the Wellington pub wasn't as good as the boys thought it would be .... so one drink and some nibbles and then onto0 komentarzy 200 dni

2009 - Day 2, 3 & 4 in Adelaide
Mate, things in Adelaide has been full on so the time has come and gone so quickly I can hardly keep up with the updates on the blogs. Day 2 saw an early morning rise .... just can't keep up with the 2 1/2 hour time difference so what seems like a sleep in at home, is about 4 am here .... still dark ... nothing open .... and bloody crisp too!!! Day 2 (Sunday) we headed to the Rundellls Street Market having breakfast and doing some cheap shopping. Not a bad market, but nothing like Melbourne or Sydney .... alot more laid back .... By the way .... nothing opens in Adelaide on a Sunday until 11 am. (except the markets). After the boys stressing over how to catch the tram .... we headed to Glenelg ... on the coast. About 12 km's out of Adelaide and absolutely beautiful. I found it a cross between Mt Maunganui and Devonport .... found a beautiful Mexican restaurant for lunch and drank Sangria's while eating nachos, potato skins and chilli conquesta ..... minus the deadly swine fu ... LOL! Food was delcious ..... as was the sangria, however it wasn't as nice as mine ,.....so Ness reckons. More shopping and then headed to Harbourtown .... a big factory shopping complex .... with EVERYTHING you could manage. Lots of bargains
Bus home then the boys went for a walk to find us dinner ..... NOTHING in Adelaide is open on a Sunday night either.
Day 3 - the McLaren Vale wine tour ....... Awesome, awesome, awesome!!! Just loved it. 5 wineries and 1 olive shop .... and you're in heaven. Didn't or haven't tasted any the wines from the vineyards we visited but they were an experience especially the bus load of ozzie med's that were singing up a storm at the Woodstock vineyard ... LOL! Dinner at Standford where I enjoyed the Kangaroo on rocket and citrus .... and watched Bung eat their traditional Stonegrill with 400 gm of Angus beef, prawns and a side of fries with peppercorn gravy, Ness with the balck forest gateau and Gig with the stuff chicken .... all over a beautiful South Austrailian bottle of wine from Coonawarra. Fair to say, it was along day ... and we were feeliing rather happy when we returned home.
Day 4 - walking the streets of Adelaide .... and shopping at Rundells Mall ..... but first, it started at Cocolate ..... has to be the best chocolate restaurant I have EVER eaten at. Lemon crepes and Chilli Hot Chocolate for breakfast isn't your ideal thing, but it beats Rocky Road Crepes and Tiramisu .... which is what Bung, Ness and Gig had for their breakfast. My mouth is watering just thinking about it ......... Hmmmm. Walked the Torrenns River .... visited the St Peter Cathedral .... entered the Adelaide Oval .... which by the way ...... I still can't believe they let the public in every day ....... tram to Rundells Mall again ..... for more shopping for me & Ness while the guys found a bar and drank beer .... then to the Central Market for our $10 challenge ....... Hmmmm, roast capscium dip, feta peppers, pate, aged cheddar, cumin gouda and pesto, pesto, and more pesto!!! That's for dinner ..... with two nice wines from Fox Creek vineyard ..... Finished with a few glasses of feijoa vodka. Hmmmm a most enjoyable time so far .... but lookign forward to tomorrow for the wine tour of the Barossa Valley. Peace Owt!!!0 komentarzy 203 dni

2009 - Day 1 in Adelaide
Well it was an early rise this morning at 4 am, but once we got on our way, filled up with petrol and checked in ... things were looking up ... UNTIL of course we went through NZ customs ... talk about 1 billion people!!! But after going through betting scanned for my under wire BRA , purchasing Feijoa vodka, ALL went well. The flight was awesome......in house movies ... TRAN TRARIMO ..... BRIDE WARS ...... AND playing games and watching sitcoms .... 4 hours and 30 mins later ... we arrived in ADELAIDE!!!
It's a really nice place which reminds me alot of Christchurch ... and Wellington city... Apartment is awesome .... 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom ..... with a view .... we went to explore the city to see what we can find. An awesome salad bar ..... RUNDELLS MALL .... AND the markets ..... nothing could be better. By the way .... COLES doesn't sell wine so you gotta find a bottle store ....AND pay at least $20 a bottle on red wine to experience the region.
A night experiencing SA shiraz, kangaroo salami, feta capscium, feta and roast capscium dip, aged cheddar AND hot chilli salami .... was it for us ......
Overall a most relaxing and enjoyable first day in Adelaide......God bless Bung and Ness for bring their laptop on the trip.
