Going to see Indiana Jones next week. As much as I'll love another Indiana Jones movie (if it's done to the same quality as the previous three) I can't say I've been exactly holding my breath in anticipation. I was holding my breath for the new starwars movies and... well... I enjoy them. But they didn't live up to the hype. I'll just be happy if Indy4 is a decent/good movie. Doesn't have to be world shattering.

It's an interesting thought that God, knowing everything, gets to see the movie. But doesn't pay. Is that moral? I mean, like, he created everything, so I guess he should be able to watch the movie. On the other hand, he could just drop a fiver into the cash register, but I doubt he ever does.

Maybe he only does that for good movies.

Or maybe he only does that for Uwe Boll movies, which is why Uwe keeps being able to make more. Because, like, God has a sense of humor. But the joke is on anyone who watches one of those movies.

Is God, who sees and knows everything, able to block out the Uwe Boll movies, or is he forced to experience every moment every time they play?
I've never felt sorry for an omnipotent creator before...

This morning I was thinking of transformers. Which is unusual for me.
No, seriously, I saw a poster for them. That's why I was thinking about it. I don't normally spend my time considering robots. Or talking about them. Or bothering my friends.

Anyway....

they come from this alien planet called Cybertron, right?
It struck me how retarded that was. I mean... cybertron?
So we have this alien civilization that is built from living machines. Alright, I'll buy it.
And they name their planet cybertron?
What does cybertron mean?
Well, cyber is short for cybernetic, and cybernetics is the study of human functions in mechanical and electronic systems designed for replacement. Great. So the Transformers really are cybernetic - since they are machines that do the things humans do (they're great big robot people!) - all good.
So they named their *planet* that?
And tron? Well... different interpretations there. You could assume it comes from the movie "Tron" - or you could look a bit further. Tron is a command in a really old programming language that's short for TRace ON - it's a debugger. It's also slang for someone that cut themselves off from all communication except via the computer (funny, these days more people do that, but we lost the slang)

So... let's just assume "tron" means... I don't know... machine. That means their planet is called "robot-man machine"
This makes more sense in the Japanese cartoon, where the Autobots are called Cybertrons. Cybertrons makes sense for the robots since they are people-machines. WHY DID THE JAPANESE MANAGE TO USE ENGLISH PROPERLY WHEN THE AMERICAN VERSION CAN'T?

Yeah, anyway...
So they then NAMED THEIR PLANET THAT? They named their planet "robot-man robot"? That's like humans naming Earth "meat-world" - seriously dude, what?

So I was wondering about these retarded robots, and then I figured... they're aliens. They probably don't speak English well. (then again, we've established that the Japanese speak it better than the Americans, so it's not so farfetched that alien robots speak it.)
- back in their own world, when talking to each other... being machines... they probably just refer to cybertron by the grid reference. Probably something like (0, 0, 0)
Now, knowing humans are stupid, when the humans say "Where do you come from" they don't respond with grid references. They say "Uhhh, yeah.... we come from this planets that has a name. It's called... uh... cyber...tron? Yeah, that's what it's called. It's a planet of machine-people, unlike your meat-world."

Of course, these days when people say "cyber" they tend to mean "pretending to have sex over the internet" - which gives an *entirely* different impression of Cybertron.

I'm happy about it, I've got the most wonderful fiance. But it's forcing me to reconsider how I view myself. I never thought that I *wouldn't* marry - but I never thought that I *would*

- Still, it's exciting. There's this great big party, and it's all about me! ME! (oh, and that other girl. But at least I only have to share it with one person)
