Me, Myself, and I
Whether you are a member, ex member, friend or just curious I am delighted to bid you a very warm welcome to our website.

The 44th is now the only company in the Broughty Ferry area following the demise of the 19th and 46th Coys and as such we are a parish Boys Brigade in the truest sense of the word drawing members from across the ‘Ferry’ area.

The Company :

Staff numbers have doubled in four years to 20 trained officers and helpers. The success of any company is dependent on the staff and in this respect the 44th Dundee Company are very fortunate to have such a dedicated group of people willing to give so freely of their time and talents.

Our Company size has also increased with over 100 boys on the roll and a steady attendance throughout the session. It is worth noting we are a large company by present day standards and in the top four within the local battalion.

Arrangements for CAMP are in the blog.....

  • Senior Football Tournament

Sadly the Seniors lost everygame they played but were outplayed by older opponents. Our young team put up a good fight but couldn't battle against stronger opposition. Ando was the new-comer this year after the retiring Gav, Blair, Milzo and Liam. Ben Harper could not make the tournament as of Badminton duties.

    Game 1
    42nd 5 v 1 44th
    GK Alan (6/10)
    DEF Robbie (7/10)
    DEF Ando (8/10)
    MID Jack (7/10)
    ATT Steven (9/10)
A delightful goal from Steven Downie from a tight angle gave us our first goal of the tournament.

    Game 2
    Monifieth 3 v 0 44th
    GK Alan (7/10)
    DEF Robbie (6/10)
    DEF Jack (6/10)
    MID Ando (7/10)
    ATT Steven (6/10)
No real good goal scoring chances for us. Robbie will be getting slagged for this when he goes to school on Monday. Jack picks up an injury in this match after decking it over the ball and slaming into the ground but with only 5 players turning up there was no subs to take Jack's place.

    Game 3
    6/8th 3 v 1 44th
    GK Robbie (6/10)
    DEF Ando (6/10)
    DEF Jack (7/10)
    MID Alan (9/10)
    ATT Steven (8/10)
A tactical change was made by Kincaid. Switching Alan for Robbie. A shot from Steven just went over the bar but came straight at Alan, it was a well taken strike by Alan which went threw the keepers legs into the back of the net. Assistant Manager Liam Kincaid urged the team to get more goals and is not wanting to go home pointless.

    Game 4
    Carnoustie 4 v 0 44th
    GK Robbie (7/10)
    DEF Ando (7/10)
    DEF Jack (7/10)
    MID Alan (7/10)
    ATT Steven (7/10)
The final game for us was against Carnoustie. We wanted to win our last game but we did not have the strength to get the opposing players off the ball. Tiredness played a part in this defeat but hopefully next year we'll improve from this year.

Referee was Lee Craigie. He was fair to every team and was not bias towards the 44th. An overall good performance from Lee. (10/10)
