Dear Old Boys,
Greetings to you all.
As we have signposted for some time, we are working towards getting an independent Old Boys’ Association up and running again – with, of course, the full support of the School.
In that regard Ross Nicholas has been co-ordinating a group of key Old Boys who have been meeting in Christchurch, working towards that task.
Please see below the invitation to attend a meeting on Monday 3 December at 7pm in the School Staffroom.
If you are interested, you are encouraged to attend. In particular, we would like to see Old Boys from the 3rd forms of 1957, 1958, 1968 and 1978 to assist with planning next year’s reunion.
We also plan to resurrect an annual golf tournament; see if we can put a team in to the Strowan Cup Golf Tournament (the one played for each year by the Old Boys’ Associations of the other boys schools in town); and have a couple of functions per year in Christchurch; as well as an annual visit by the Headmaster to at least Auckland and Wellington.
If you wish to make your views known, or wish to attend, please email Ross directly at marg-ross.nicholas@xtra.co.nz
It would be great to see you there.
Also, don’t forget that we still have copies of the Jubilee history “ON PARADE” on sale at the School Office or via the website www.shirley.school.nz
