Thanks says John!
Publicity stunt on two friday nights ago had what some may call a publicity stunt in the KDYS raising funds for Mounthawks Kenya project sponsoring many children to go to school at Br.Beausang secondary Nairobi.
Just want to put out a big thanks to John Buggey for letting us the Kdys cafe for the night and for being a dead on legend organising the tickets and publicity (this word is getting in the way too often). Theres only one John Buggey.....
Also to the four bands who played! Share the Couch, Evolution, Blue Attack and The other members of Publicity Stunt. sounds lads ye are! The music was top class really and truly from all the acts! Especially share the couch and plue attack who were just playing their first gigs in the kdys. Evolution were pro as usual!
Of course david smith gets his own mention for doing a marathon of drumming! What a guy!
Thanks to Mounthawk for the Kenya project and giving us a reason to have a gig! haha
And Julianne and Megan who stood the door taking tickets and giving strip searches. Holly is cool too even though she was doing something much more interesting..... she doesnt kno what she missed!!!! haha thanks Kenya team!!!
And thanks to you audience for staying from the Strokes to Charmer, the support was class! Even singing along to pub. stunts songs that we thought noone would know! it made it all the easier! Seriously you crowd should go pro!
In the end we raised 360 big ones for the project! Wowaweewa!!!
Best of luck to all the bands with their playing, all the crowds with their cheering in the future and david with his eighty blisters. Sexy....
And hey Bands! remember us when youre organising gigs! were ready for everything now!
also available for house parties!
Cheers everybody!0 Comments 204 weeks

We ain't lazy!
right guys so thans a million to anyone who came and supported us at our last (and first) gig! but things haven't stopped there! us guys are already hard at work on the set list for our next gig and have plans lain for our next original!
if any of our real fans (not just people who join up for the sake of it) have any songs they'd like to hear us play, or any suggestions of songs to play, then leave a comment and we'll think about it! but we're not promising anything!1 Comment 284 weeks

Funky Fish Youth Cafe8/6/09Hey lads, do you want to play Saturday night? Looks like we're better fixed for equipment than the last night. Up to you....
-
Funky Fish Youth Cafe8/5/09Aww, bummer, well I suppose if it is any easier for you I could give you a slot in the last heat this Saturday - you up for it? At least equipment shouldn't be a problem.

Ok, I've been working on the equipment: We may have a 3rd band playing that would hopefully solve the amps problem, but if not, I have an offer of a loan of 1 decent guitar amp and I have an instrument mic which the sound guy assures me will work well stuck in front of your 30 watt amp! - we'll manage

Katy-Len The Kangaroo8/4/09OMG! Biggest groupie ever here and I'm still not your number one fan! Amy you smelly sausage! you better fix this! Mouldy bread! Or I'll open and can of WHOOP on your ass!!! lol

Heya, just getting round to sorting stuff for the gig on Wednesday. Just want to check - you guys are able to bring pretty much all your own equipment except drums and PA, and you dont mind others using your amps, right? That would be great - 3pitaph, one of the other bands, has pulled out the Wednesday gig and the Forsaken say all they have thats usable is a bass amp. We have PA and a drum kit which isn't great but if you bring your own cymbals it should do the job. I'm looking for another band now to play in 3pitaph's place even if not competing. Oh, and 1 more thing - can you bring a copy of your competition song's lyrics for the judges please?

Sorry I haven't got back to you till now - I haven't heard back from 1 band yet and their are ???'s over 2 other bands, but I need to let bands know now which day they'll play, so here's the line-up: Wed 5th: Publicity Stunt; 3pitaph; The Forsaken Sat 8th: FineLine; 2day Nation & possibly 2 others to be announced If you could aim to arrive at 6ish for sound checking - gig starts at 8pm. Could you play a set of up to 45mins-1hour? Less might do - we usually aim for gigs to be about 2-2.5 hours long. Also, to encourage you to bring a crowd
you will get a €1 deduction from your entry fee for every person in the audience who says they are there to support you
Next thing we need to work out is equipment: We have PA and 4-5 mics. Bands playing usually share drums, amps etc. What equipment are you bringing and are you happy for others to use it? Thanks for your patience
