After another appearance on Saturday Night Live, with there own band. The Band release there very first Album "Briefcase Full Of Blues" in which was a smash hit.
In 1980 The Blues Brothers Film was released with the Soundtrack and the "Made In America" album. In 1982 John Belushi died of a drug overdose.
When the band reformed in 1988 with Eddie Floyd and Larry Thurston as there front men, Dan Aykroyd took the Elwood character out of retirement and joined the band under the name of "The Elwood Blues Soul Rider Revue". In 1995 Dan Aykroyd revealed two new Brothers in the act "Mighty Mack" played by John Goodman and John Belushi's brother Jim Belushi playing "Brother Zee Blues". With the two new brothers Dan Aykroyd opened his new house club chain "The House Of Blues" with the two. And backed on occaions by The Sacred Hearts Band. In 1998 The sequel "Blues Brothers 2000". The original band continued to play in to the new Mellenium with different front men such as Tommy McDonnell and Rob Papparozzi. Now in 2007 the Band tours Europe with only 3 orinignal members in Steve Cropper, Lou Marini, Alan Rubin. Elwood and Zee now perform with the Sacred Hearts Band in Casino's and House's Of Blues.
From the year 1978 through Disco, Electonic Disco, Punk, Pop and Grunge, to 2007, The Blues Brothers have lived through it all, keeping the flame of Soul , R&B and Blues alive, when that flame flickers, the light of the word is on fire, with the music that has lead man through 5 decades will survive from a Band known as the Blues Brothers.
