A bit about K9...
We have been in the new purpose built acoustically engineered studio for nearly four years now and are nicely settled in! We have built up a large collection of the latest pre-amps, mics, guitars and other instruments, and the latest Pro-tools HD Accel recording and editing system. Click on the equipment section of the blog to get the complete list of our equipment.
We also have a state-of-the-art entertainment room that will keep you busy when certain members of the band need just a few more takes to get it right! We searched the internet for the best games and consoles that you can play on out Sony Widescreen TV while waiting. Or you can sit back and relax with a cup of coffee and choose one of our many DVD’s to keep you occupied. For the more active types we also have a foosball table!

K9 Studio Newsletter
Hi and welcome to K9 Studio’s first newsletter. We thought we would keep you folks up to date with the latest goings on in the studio.
First of all we would like to congratulate Betamax Format on their recent number one in the Phantom fm air play chart for the song ‘you are welcome in my house’ which was recorded at the end of July in K9. Its part of a forthcoming ep which will be released later in the year.
In July the studio got a very serious upgrade. We moved the recording system up to a Protools HD 2 Accel system and also purchased a Mac Pro quad core computer with 3 gb of ram, 1 terra bite of storage and two 22inch Samsung monitors. The studio is now the most affordable Protools HD studio in the country. There was some crying at the handing over of such an obscene amount of cash for it.
We got our greasy mitts on some amazing new plug ins like Ampeg SVT, Amplitube 2.0, TL Space, Revibe, Digidesigns Virtual Drummer programmer Strike and a hole bunch of other cool stuff. The Ampeg bass amp sounds absolutely amazing unbelievably real and Ampiltube is by far the most accurate guitar amp simulator around. The new reverbs sound so bright and clean they really posh up the mix. You can dial up actual reverbs from would famous buildings and studio live rooms. So if the snare drum needs a bit more Sydney Opera House we got it covered!

About K9 Studio
We have just moved into a huge new purpose built acoustically engineered recording facility (1000sq ft). The studio has also been filled to the brim with the latest pre-amps, mics, and Pro Tools recording system.
Also check out our new entertainment room we're quite sure no studio in Dublin is like it! We have searched the Internet to get the best games and consoles, combine this with a Sony widescreen TV, foosball table, DVD player plus a selection of great films.
