She had to go, it was her time.
Missed by many, but she's doing fine.
She still remains, in memories and thought.
Far too special to ever be forgot!

It was only time till the day arrived,
the gastly news, she cant be revived!
The shock, the sorrow,
there is no tomorrow!

And with time, reality dawns,
She may be 'dead' but not really gone!
For in the wind I hear her laugh,
her gentle touch, her funny gaffs.

In the tears, pain and sorrow,
god above ' sorry,I just had to borrow'
She's gone home, and waiting there,
for her friends and family - such love to share.

So what is M.E.?
It is a Central Nervous System (Brain/Spinal Cord) dysfunction, so affects every physiological system in the body, usually to devasting effect. It is an extremely complicated series of physiological breakdowns, causing a dominoe effect of systematic dysfunction throughout the entire body. It does not just mean that a person is 'tired' as a lot of folk seem to think!
A significant number of M.E. victims commit suicide, and are also known to have a much shorter life span due to 'complications', especially organ failure and cancer. This sad fact is swept under the carpet for convenience.
Common symptoms: cognitive problems (reduced ability to think clearly, memory problems, confusion and disorientation). Pain, generalised body pain, headaches, muscle/joint pain. Constant severe fatigue, and mind numbing exhaustion after trying to do anything. Digestive disorder. Immune defiency, Cardiac defiency. Muscle weakness, balance, hearing and sight problems, sensory overload, breathing problems and many, many more.
A significant number of affected people are so disabled that they are bed ridden, some sadly die at an earlier age than expected, althought the link to M.E. will not be shown on the death certificate.
Many people claim to have 'recovered' after a few months/years of having M.E.. In my opinion it was not M.E. they had, recovery to full previous health is rare, long term disability is common.
Many medics still do not understand or believe in the condition, despite there being clear physical evidence that a person is affected by M.E. when proper and thorough testing is done. Sorry, forgot that this costs MONEY. The number one treatment for M.E. presently is a course of medical 'fobbing' off.
Slowly, the truth about M.E. is being leaked out. It is easier and cheaper to deny a condition exisits but this is no longer viable, maybe due to information sharing benefits of the internet. Slowly, M.E. is being properly recognised for the devastating multi system dysfunction that it is, but sadly in the meantime millions of people worldwide SUFFER very badly everday of every week of every month of every year - what a disgrace.
